Hello All,

I recently contacted the Canadian EV incentive program about having pickup trucks add to the program.

Response is as follows:

For vehicles to become eligible automakers must apply to have themselves added to our list of eligible vehicles. As of right now none of the automakers have applied to have a pickup added. If there is a specific vehicle that you would like to see added please contact your local dealership or the automaker directly to express your interest in this vehicle and it would be a benefit to them to apply to have this vehicle added.

Please refer to our website for details of what makes a vehicle eligible:

https://www.tc.gc.ca/en/services/road/innovative-technologies/zero-emission-vehicles.html

Here is the list of current eligible vehicles:

Thank you,

I've forwarded the above to Tesla but might help if the EV community started to Lobby Tesla and their respective governments to get this ball rolling. It just makes sense, the current incentives were targeting daily drivers i.e. drive to work and park it type cars, then drive home at end of day. Why not target vehicles that actually target more of a dual purpose, ie drive to the site and get used during the day? If the actual goal is to reduce emissions makes sense to me.
