I see you have the open road awning. I have alltop shower awning. It uses m6 that kinda damaged my rails.

It’s worth noting, openroads awning is 400 dollars cheaper with the sale running (yours is on sale too) - and they offer a 3 year warranty vs urander’s 2 year warranty. Both seem to have similar features. What is the benefit of your awning vs theirs?

I’m legitimately asking as I’ve been considering a mars rack and getting this exact awning.
I’ve got the same exact setup and you can’t go wrong with it! The build construction is top notch and we used it during the winter here in Tahoe at the resorts and had zero issues. We’re starting to use it now over the summer for its 2nd season and we’ve probably used it over 100 times total. Good luck with your decision!

Awesome! Thank you! This was awesome to see. Hopefully @Urander responds to my question too.

Fwiw: they also have a $699 Adventure Series 270 awning and a $999 270 Plus awning.

The obvious difference is that ours features an ABS hard shell with aluminum MOLLE panels, while theirs uses a soft shell design.

ETA on having them back in stock? Thanks
Sorry, just saw this. We transitioned to our Gen 2 hardshell awning last June

A few more differences worth noting:
Size: Ours is 8.2ft, theirs is 6.7ft

Fabric:
Ours is 300D woven polyester with a graphene coating, UV50+ protection, and a 5000mm waterproof rating. Theirs lists no UV or waterproof specs, and their Q&A suggests it only holds up in light rain
Hub:
Our aluminum casting hub uses a custom mold and is significantly stronger than their basic folding hub

Zippers: Ours are YKK. Theirs are unknown
Better LED lights, Better poles

Similar features like you said, but the quality gap is real. Think 2026 Model S vs old gen Model 3 if you see them in person.

We didn't reply earlier because our current 8.2ft awning is too long for the Mars rack. That said, we have a new hardshell go forward 270 awning (similar in size to their 270 Degree Awning Plus) coming in July at 6.7ft that would fit mars rack, at the same price as our current one. So $100 cheaper than their 270 Plus.

We also have two videos on the product page worth checking out.

Hope this helps!

This is exactly what I needed. You guys rock. I’m going to hold out for your 6.7ft rack.
