I installed TeslaMate on an old laptop to test it out and so far I'm happy. It can be installed on any computer (even a raspberry pi) that is always on. It's free minus the computer / electricity.

The install takes a *little* bit of know-how, but is relatively straightforward if you know your way around terminal/linux/docker/etc.

I use Tessie, mostly because of the Amazon Echo integration. I can shout "hey Alexa, start the car" as I'm looking for my shoes, and then be greeted by an unlocked and comfy truck. Of course TeslaFi has this also, but I've not tried it.

You can also do this with Siri just by creating an iOS Shortcut. I use the action button on my phone to open the frunk, for example.

What do you want out of the product?
I've had Tesla's for over 6 years and haven't needed, nor desired to use a 3rd party product. My range anxiety was resolved before I for my first Tesla.

Nothing specifically. I happened to go to it for stats on what's rolling out. Wondered what it really did over and above what I already have with the Tesla app, and then wondered what benefit it added and if it was something folks are using a lot.

Yes since 2016 every mile I drive has been logged. Has been useful many times for recall of trips and identifying anomalies or the effect of new tires, etc. worth $50/yr to me.

I have tried them all and TeslaFi has been the best for my personal use.

It keeps track of not just your drives, but also your charging history. It then compares your range versus others. It's got so much cool info and it's presented in a very nice way.

I use both TeslaFi and the STATS app which was a one-time cost. TeslaFi's $50 annual cost is well worth it given that I am a data geek.
