When not in a hurry, I take a specific route using mostly back roads and a short stretch of freeway for the scenic aspect and also to save energy. I keep having to fight FSD, disengaging, making turns manually, then reengaging FSD many times. Is there a way to save a specific route path (road by road) in the Cybertruck?

I'd like to know too- it keeps wanting to take me one a route through a boring part of town with an unprotected left to save 2min on my commute.

In firmware 2025.14.1, they introduced several new route features:
  • fastest
  • best ameneties
  • fewer stops
  • avoid highways

but there still is no way to save a specific route AFAIK.

I have often wondered this. Could/would come in handy..

Altho I noticed when I had my ModelY it seemed as tho the navigation ā€˜learned’ my preferred path to work over time. Including the occasional preferred Starbucks stop along the way.

I've noticed that the truck seems to have some sort of memory, too - there's a place in my neighborhood where I always slow down (so as to not annoy the folks who live on that corner), and the truck seems to do it on its own now. The speed limit doesn't change where it happens, and it doesn't happen until after a couple drives after an update. Could be imaginary, but it seems like there's something there.

Route-wise, it seems like it'll occasionally offer my preferred route now but not always (the variance might just be based on traffic at the time). When it doesn't, the only thing I've found to do to force it to go a certain way is drop a pin somewhere on the route you want to go and add it as a stop to the trip. Then, when you're near it, edit the trip and cancel the waypoint. Or disable FSD, drive past the waypoint, and it'll recalculate the rest of the trip.

I'd love to be able to save preferred routes explicitly, too, though.

Ive tried doing it with multiple ā€œstopsā€ as you can press ā€œcontinue tripā€ but it just confuses the FSD. So natively, no. But maybe if you can cleverly plant multiple stops as if they were waypoints, it could sequentially follow them?

When you first put in the destination, sometimes it will give you optional routes, if you choose the one you want that way you are all set.
Otherwise no way to do it, which is dumb in my opinion.

It would be nice if you could RECORD a Route and then save it, like you can on several Trail GPS systems. I honestly still have no idea how to save Points to travel to that the FSD will remember like my Son's House, I always have to type in his address, How about a Favorites list or better yet, read it off your contacts list for ones that have addresses.

@Aerospace2061 @Gigahorse got it right but also as you are driving touching the "next turn" section of the navigation screen will show you alternate routes....the alternate route will change as you approach the destination.

There is a favorites list to the right on the top of the menu as you enter the destination. LMK if you need a pic

Sounds like enough people would like this feature, including myself, we need a place to provide input to Tesla. My GPS (CT and older vehicles) always try to take a ā€œdumbā€ way home and I always have to interrupt and then re-engage. Saving a specific route would be awesome and would seem pretty easy to implement. Ditto on other’s observations about learning. Would really like to better understand the algorithm Tesla uses.

One think I’ve found handy to force the route you want is to disable the online rerouting to save time option on the nav page (or else put a large value in it). I had to do this recently in Norrh Carolina where I wanted to take backroads. Sometimes the route option wouldn’t present itself unless I did the above.
