I noticed that my CT was extremely quiet, if I open the window in reverse I hear about nothing at all, same at low speeds going forward.

I do hear the iconic sound a bit in the cabin, but nothing outside.

Got CT to service for a few minor items, and they told me that ‘this is normal, all CTs are very quiet, diagnostics do not show anything abnormal’

ok, but that makes no sense, the goal is to emit a sound so pedestrians know you’re on the move or about to. I find it very dangerous that it doesn’t, a few times I’ve had pedestrians surprised to see me.

same problem? Is the service center BSing me?

is that a known issue to be resolved?

I haven't heard anything, I and would prefer to have nothing if given the choice. That was a big selling point for me when I went electric with my Model S.

The problem is that not having any external sound means it’s illegal. I guess you could get ticketed for this. NHTSA mandates a 56db sound to be emitted below 20 mph.

It’s dangerous too that it’s not working.

Would love to see if all CTs have this turned off.

What seems odd is that the inside speakers play that sound when backing out… but the outdoor speaker seems off.

Have you guys tried your BoomBox feature? Does that work? It’s using the same external speaker.

It's probably working, but I've noticed the boom box and fart sounds are significantly quieter than X and Y.

FYI: I finally tested the BoomBox feature (and it doesn't sound as horrible as I thought it would, I mean to play Media).... which confirms my outdoor speakers are working (I can hear there's one in the front, and one in the back of the truck)... which means, by design (software) Tesla has decided to make the CyberTruck basically completely silent at low speed. So be it... my biggest worry was that something was messed up with my speakers, but it's not that.

Now, I'm wondering if there's an exception for Commercial vehicles maybe that doesn't require the PWS to be active?
