Issue: screen went blank after 24.2.8 Update. Service Center fix underway

Updated to 24.2.8.
LTE instantly went out and then I started to drive and 5 min later the screen also went out. Scroll wheel reset didn’t bring anything back.

Took it to Service Center.

They were able to recover the screen after a 12v reset and confirmed that the screen was bootlooping. The LTE was still missing so they did a scroll wheel reset which brought back LTE but lost the screen.

They took the truck in and said 3-5 days to figure out what’s going on.

Bummer. I'm in the same boat with receiving my truck only to hand it over to service immediately. I hope this gets resolved quickly for you.

Nope, just using hotspot on drive and using WiFi at work and home.

Dropping it off tomorrow for a long list of items to fix.

Seems theres quite a few gremlins atm.

Now if one only had some knobs or switches so you could control stuff without a screen. ;)

Btw did your rear screens also go out?

What was the fix for this? I’m now having the same issue with a black screen that I am unable to reset.

Thank you for the response. I’m not having an issue with anything else other than the screen being black, everything else is working.

People saying this is a minor problem are wrong in my opinion, the whole vehicle is controlled from that screen. Many functions including navigation also require connection.

Depends how you look at it. I worked at Tesla and can use the car without the screen (thx for voice prompts and phone mount).

The issue was my SO and family that might drive the truck, for them it’s a major concern.

The issue was my SO and family that might drive the truck, for them it’s a major concern.
The voice command feature does not work for me at this time.

I won't list all the reasons why driving a Tesla without a screen is not a great idea, but a big one is speed an inability to know if you are going 20 vs 40 mph

Thankfully, my service center was able to reach an engineer who saw a line of code in my firmware that was not right, and he was able to update that and the screen came back on remotely.

They mentioned a new software update will be rolled out in the next 7 to 10 business days for everyone.
