The inside word is they are asking employees if they want to be testers. Crash tests and EPA filings can come any day now. It probably will happen fast.
It has been the case with Tesla since.

It extends to early customers too but after regulatory compliance and government approvals.

Anyone wants to volunteer as guinea pig just you can jump in front of the queue? LOL!

is it me or do the CTs on the delivery truck look super dirty? There was a post (or article šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø) claiming CT would be a fingerprint magnet. Looks like they might be right. car wrap here we come!
In an interview at The Petersen Museum Franz said that the Cybertruck would have a pattern/finish that would support keeping it clean. That said, all of the CTs I have seen on trucks (in shared pix) seem to be fingerprint magnets.

there are not

not the case

let it breath
All Tesla has to do to stop all of this is to announce the delivery event. Otherwise it should expect this kind of thing. After all, this isn’t its first time with a product delivery, only this one is the most anticipated product in the history of the automobile.

Stainless steel sinks really shine when ā€œPledgeā€ lemon is applied to them. Keeps it shining and repels water spots. Not just sinks, but drinking fountains.

Works like wax on a painted car.

"Lemon Pledge" is basically spray wax. Waxes and oils will shine up stainless really nicely, all while attracting and trapping dust and dirt. It also doesn't adhere very well, so it will smear and streak when it gets wet.

For a stainless car, the best thing you can do is clean it thoroughly, as you would glass. There are no polishes or waxes that will provide lasting effect.

far from expecting it, they're intentionally cultivating it!

and i dont blame them one bit!

they're intentionally choosing open carriers without cling-wrap.

that said, i *do* think they might accidentally overplay that hand at the margins - in that they might have a bit too much faith that people understand what their eg Q2 deck means when it describes 'release candidate' builds and that 'production' wont start until later this year

e.g., Xwitter is currently 1/3 fans who are ignoring that distinction, and may risk creating some unnecessary disappointment

but maybe more risky, is that another 1/3 of Xwitter right now are critics who are ignoring that distinction in order to make hay of the "build quality" of some of these RCs

i guess if 'any press is good press' it's all good press

I guess dish soap it is! I'll have to check out Bar Keepers Friend, stock up on magic erasers, and maybe invest in some of that Wurth SS oil. You really gotta be dedicated to be using WD40 to clean a car, isn't that stuff a neurotoxin?

Hey Gus, any particular glass cleaner you recommend more than others? What exactly do you use to clean your DeLorean?

I start with the two-bucket method, using a high-quality ceramic-based shampoo.

Just kidding, I use a scrub brush and some dish soap lol

That's very complex. I might need a YouTube tutorial video or something? lol

I do not believe that Tesla is handing out RCs to employees/friends yet. I subscribe to the position that @Crissa proffered that the official testing (NHTSA/EPA) must complete before deliveries can be made.

That said, and with respect to your comment above, I no longer follow 'X'/'Twitter' but I definitely do not differentiate Release Candidate timing vs. Production timing after the Delivery Event date. I also do not think in terms of 'margin' timing. Elon said Q3 for the Delivery Event, and later modified it to early October, but has never wavered since then. No Delivery Event announcement has been made. I think that 'unnecessary' disappointment/frustration either has or soon will become the predominant feeling here and everywhere.

These types of statements (about Tesla handing out RCs) will likely end as soon as the Delivery Event date is announced (or, at least, they will more likely be ignored). If Tesla is really cultivating these kinds of rumors that is just sad because there is a certain degree of cruelty in it.
