He also started the company dbrand that sells phone cases. I ordered a case and it was sub par so I tried to return. After weeks of trying to get a return they final responded. Then while returning he wanted pictures of the postage applied to the package. I think he's a one man band and is over his head.
Dbrand definitely sucks! I bought an iPad skin from them it was total garbage! Cool packaging, shit product!

[See how I can say that without getting into his politics or folliclular deficiencies?]

You keep bringing up Sandy Munro as someone whose judgement you trust. You said you think he is "whispering" about a critical deficiency when he didn't come out and say it was. Are you then saying that if he thought it was a real danger he wouldn't warn people?
I think he was being diplomatic and recognizing that he doesn’t have all the facts like all of us. He clearly hasn’t done any kind of destructive testing as the casting is sitting in his shop intact during the video.

I’m not gonna spoon feed it to you; it’s his last video on castings. Did you watch it?

Jerryrig doesn't own dbrand, they just collab together alot.

Munroe just put a video about the castings, and talks a little about the towing aspect and not totally trusting aluminum for that kind of work. He caveats with mentioning that he doesn't really tow.

Yes, of course ,I watched it, which is how I know he didn't suggest that the castings were not up to spec for towing, just that it didn't matter for his needs. I also expect he is going to get called on that and have to make and explain the serious engineering analysis he is capable of. And we can be close to absolutely certain that when he does, as I originally said, we will read about it right here.

Thats kinda lame IMO. with a 160-pound vertical weight limit on the cybertruck hitch I could not even load my 2 e bikes on that hitch.
pretty sure that was a typo as someone discovered earlier indirect communication with Tesla. I think it’s actually about 1200 pounds.
It has published vertical weight limits and they differ only a little for other trucks.
Thanks to the efforts of @DeadSetElectric et al from this thread, Tesla has updated the Cybertruck Owner's Manual with specifics about the vertical load limits based on the center-of-gravity distance from the hitch, basically:

tongue weight: 1100 lbs
at 17 inches: 375 lbs
at 32 inches: 220 lbs

I think I’ll close this out by saying the following: What I do for a living is litigate problems that arise from accidents and injuries. I defend corporations.

Before that, I enforced safety rules for the government as an inspector and administrator.

I can give you a 35+ year career dissertation on ignoring “unverified complaints” and the attendant perils in both lives and fortunes ruined and/or lost. The only thing that matters is the truth of the matter, and that’s often unknown - until it is - sometimes because of catastrophic failure.

If you think these unverified reports aren’t worth knowing about and Tesla shouldn’t check their math OK. I know better and even though they’re being whisper quiet about it, I guarantee you they know better too.

Everybody’s free to believe what they wanna believe and react how they wanna react.

I don’t really think I have anything else to say about it.

Still waiting for proof of these other incidents. The get quoted, but no one seems to be able to provide any details. The first reddit post, which is pictured often, was a couple of months before the WD video came out and there was no mention of towing.

You're just feeding him by watching his videos or engaging with his X posts. Many YouTubers get consumed by their ego and fall into the trap of thinking they're smarter than the people who create the things that they review.
He's also a paid influencer for Ford.

The only proof is the WD video.

There was one for sale online which was posted here, reddit, TMC, elsewhere and then the picture WD displayed in their follow up video. Those two could be the same truck.

That's it. I don't think anyone has made a claim that there was more.

Actions speak louder than words, and pictures are worth a thousand of them. You've posted yours, so it's clear that you are only railing against other peoples' style of response to what is based upon politics, monetary self-interest and what you've acknowledged "as I said in very plain English whistlingdiesel is a fucking ass hat and his “tests” are idiotic."

What I've said is that when the truth of the matter is revealed we will see it here. I can't understand your disagreement with that, other than supposing that you've just been feeling contrary.

He mentions three, and shows two posts online. I assumed the third is the WD one which cant be taken seriously.

Most took it seriously, especially after the second video.

The third is the WD video, 100%. Go on every other truck forum and that video is being discussed in the opposite way it is here. WD has over 30mm views between the 2 CT videos. It was also the most popular short for weeks.

WD are douches, those aren't realistic conditions for any truck to see, but the fact that it broke was bad for Tesla/Cybertruck. No amount of real logic fixes that for the masses.

My biggest use case is putting bike rack to carry 4 bikes. Not pulling a SpaceX rocket engine.
