Lug Nut Caps

Does anyone know how you know if Lug Nut Caps are tight enough to stay on? Or do you just put them on and hope? Or is there something you can apply to ensure they stay on?

@sgmorton, can you just pull them off with your hands (i.e. not use the provided tool). I've ordered a few different kinds, and they all "fit", but they all come right off if I pull on them. Is that how they all are?

I have the plastic ones that come with the tool on my Model X for a few years now and none have fallen off. I already bought the 21mm for the CT.

Looks like CT has 6 per wheel so we need 24 caps. They ship with 20. I guess order 2 sets to cover you if some fall off?

So these ended up being the longest and I just tried them. They seem to stay on OK (got it up to interstate speeds and they didn't fly off). I had to buy 2 packages since you need 24, not 20 like most cars. BTW, no affiliate link, just trying to help:

Sadly they're glossy black instead of matte black, but I think they still look good.

The lug nut caps that fit other Teslas will fit Cybertruck because the lug nuts are exactly the same. And no, they do not have to fit tight. They slide on and off easily and suction holds them on. They won't fly off no matter how fast you go.

Thanks for the reply! So happy to have this setup now. Feels finished! Will probably save my Aero Caps for just long trips...when we finally get them that is.

I designed, printed, and have some miles on lug nut caps that I made for myself. They are a snug fit and have stayed in place for over 300 miles of highway driving.
