It's not often products exceed my expectations but @Mars Adventure Gear Link: Mars hit one out of the park with their CT air mattress. Given my use case, more of a multi purpose family truck than a work truck (think camping, drive-in, stargazing, etc.), a solid air mattress for my truck bed has always been a top priority for me. In the past I have bought and loved several AirBedz truck air mattresses from Pittman and been really happy with them. With Pittman not having an option for the CT I went on a search for the best option currently out there for CT. Searching on here I came across both the BestEVMod and the Mars mattresses and ordered one of each. I also got on Amazon and ordered 6 others in various shapes and sizes (sorry again Amazon for all the returns
).
Nothing from amazon really worked. They were either too small, to large, or too cheap (i.e. would not hold up to my 6'4 300lb frame + at least one other person). I tried a couple made for truck beds, a couple "Full" sized mattresses, and a couple other one offs).
The BestEvMod mattress was ok and would work well enough for camping and sleeping on. It fit well, was decently made. For my needs though it was not thick enough and was typical middle of the road air mattress material. If you want something light, that packs down small and is mainly for laying out flat and sleeping this would be a good option for someone. It also is cheaper, coming in at <$100.
While to most expensive of he mattresses I tested ($229 though you can get 10% off with a code on their website or their original post here) it hit all the features I was looking for and by far was the best quality of all by a long shot. Things I love about it:
)
If I am being super picky the only things I would change or like to see are a darker grey or black color and an integrated pump. Both of these being very subjective preferences. The later having arguably +/- to both options.
I know this probably reads like a commercial or paid ad but I really just am impressed with this product and want to share.
Disclosure: Mars did send me a 2nd mattress, an initial test sample from their manufacturer, when I commented that I was afraid 3in was not thick enough so I could stack them and give feedback on the 3in vs thicker as they were deciding to increase thickness or not. HOWEVER, I paid full price for my initial mattress used for testing.
Hope this was helpful. comment if you have any questions and I will try and answer.

- Perfect fit. As it was made for the CT it fits the shape of the bed perfectly front to back
- Material is thick heavy duty vinyl. At least twice, if not 3x, as thick as others. Not only can I sit up and not come anywhere near bottoming out or feeling the truck bed, I am pretty sure I could jump up and down on it and not break it. I didn't actually try but several family members were jumping pretty agelessly in and out of the truck bed over and over at the drive in. Note that mine is also the original 3in version vs the new updated 4in. I was skeptical of it only being 3 inches but I have no complaints. I do think the 4 in will be perfect though and look forward to getting one of those soon (anyone want to buy a gently used 3in for a good price?
)
- Waterproof. In addition to just feeling thick and solid it is 100% water proof and holds up well to getting dirty and being hosed down. Lately it has just lived inflated in the back of my CT.
- Inflates fast with included pump and stays inflated. took me a couple tries to figure out the right tip but once I did it was easy and the inflate / deflate port is right in the corner by the CT bed outlets. I also like that the pump tip secures to the port vs needing to be held in place. It is the inflatable paddle board type pump and tip vs standard cheap air pump. Most importantly it stays inflated and firm. Both with lots of in and out at the drive in as well as overnight camping
