I too will be removing my mirrors when my Tesbros order comes in. From my experience driving my last car, a Jeep Wrangler, door less and mirrorless, it was never an issue. In my state this is explicitly illegal, but then again so are light bars and tons of other car mods that go totally unenforced. I'll probably put my mirrors back on for annual inspection, but that's it.

The real question here is do you believe robotaxi/FSD Unsupervised will be a thing? (I do). If so, the laws requiring mirrors are likely a moot point on a long enough timeline.

Removed the mirror first week of ownership (last July). Have not felt I needed it whatsoever.
Live in Texas, and have not been stopped, so cannot say how law enforcement might react.

1. No issues for me. Here are some pros and cons I've come across, but given the choice between mirrors or no mirrors, I'd choose no mirrors.
Cons:
- general awareness is definitely diminished. By this I mean that you're not quite as hyper aware of everyone behind you or in you blind spots. This doesn't mean that you're can immediately know if someone is there, it just isn't on my mind as constantly as when I'm using mirrors.
- long distance visibility is lower. This is certainly a con but I want it to be understood that I mean long distances, not distances in your sphere of influence or that immediately matter to you, these are perfectly visible. But it is disorienting for the first month not being able to see as far away.
- potential legal issues. I've been a year on no mirrors and I've never been bothered by LE in a negative way. Lots of interest, though.
- adjusting to the fish eye style lenses takes a bit of practice.

Pros:
- visibility all in one location. I don't have to look left, then right to see my left and right sides. While I technically wouldn't have to look at mirrors if I had them, muscle memory absolutely made this transition impossible until I made the leap to toss them. It is much faster to assess what's around me with this new muscle memory.
- no blind spots. The repeater cameras cover it. No more looking over your shoulder.
- better curb visibility, particular on left turns. Without the mirror there you can see where your front left tire is headed much easier.

Hope that helps. After driving CT mirrorless for so long, I'm convinced that it was originally intended this way. Even the blind spot indicators were moved inside and are camera based. So removing the mirrors doesn't stop them from working very well.

I'm waiting for them to give us on screen 180° rear vision before I delete the side view mirrors.

Bonus points for a retrofit ultra wide rear view monitor.

For those of you who have deleted your mirrors...

1. How has your experience been diving with cameras only?

2. What State (or country) do you live in?

3. Any issues with Law Enforcement?

Thanks in advance, appreciate it!

I've been driving without them for 7-8 months now and no issues at all. It took a couple of days to get use to but after that I settled in and can drive fine with cameras and sensors alone. I don't change lanes without a visual confirmation that the little red light isn't on and I might even glance at the screen as well just to be certain.

I live on the Kansas / Missouri border and afaik it is technically illegal to drive without at least 1 mirror but those laws were written years before cameras were ever put on vehicles so I think an argument in court could easily be made that you are complying with the intent of the law by using the video equivalent.

No issues with law enforcement. I've had some officers check out my truck at a local convenience store because they were curious about it but they didn't mention anything about the mirrors to me, assuming they even noticed.

I’ve had mine off since july. I really like the look, and it seems to help the range on the highway alot, at least a couple percent, maybe even 5% by my guestimate. I drive 70 miles to work, all highway and go fast, typically 85 and can make it with using under 30% in the summer, around 35% this winter.

Also it acutally helps with visibility out the side windows, not having a giant mirror that you can’t see through, especially when off roading and being able to see rocks and logs that would normally be blocked by the mirror.
