Supposedly the Shanghai plant incorporates very stringent QC inspections at the end of the line.

“The company conducts quality control reviews in key areas such as wheels, lights, sliding ADAS calibration, wheel hubs, chassis, and rain testing before vehicles roll off the production line, which are similar to those conducted by other automakers. In addition to this, Tesla has implemented an audit process in which randomly selected vehicles are assessed internally by employees who simulate customers from a professional perspective.”

Not bad. I’m surprised Tesla doesn’t have a real SUV at this point. I think a Tesla Tahoe-sized vehicle that seats 7 and has a ton of cargo space and 400 miles or more of range would be a great seller.
Seriously. Or something that's a Scout Traveler SUV for the off-roady crowd. So much untapped sales in the full size real SUV space.

Agreed. It has to have the space, I think having a little bit of rugged capability helps.

But I don’t think I can look insane like the Cybertruck.

Can it be made of stainless steel? Maybe, depending on how they design it. But it would have to be your choice of wrap from the factory. I believe most car buyers outside of plain utility are looking for at least a little bit of self expression, but don’t want to stick out like a sore thumb either.

If utility was the only thing buyers are looking at, the only cars that would exist would be a Civic, Sienna Minivan, F-150, and maybe a Wrangler.

I think they'll need to at some point or keep falling short compared to other vehicles, which would be a mistake.
I think Tesla will slowly move out of the Automobile market as robots/Automation build. They basically canceled the Model 2. There are some new variants on existing platforms coming this year, but I don't see many more big launches coming in the future, nor do I think they will ever pack that many batteries in a vehicle with Elon at the helm.

Edit: Elon did say the stalks weren't coming back and they brought back the turn signal, so maybe there can be a change. The M3 Highland hasn't performed that well and many say it's because of the lack of stalks.

Well the Roadster was supposed to have 600 miles of range, and the CT 500, the RE for the CT is supposed to provide over 400 miles. I think the reality of "robotaxi" will keep them in the automobile market for quite a while. They might give up on the S/X but I think that would be a mistake unless they replaced them with newer improved versions, with more range.

The Roadster will not have 600 miles of range.

Elon has said multiple times (recently as well) that he doesn't see a time where any vehicle needs more than 350 miles and if they do something like a range extender should be offered.

Unfortunately he's clearly wrong since the Model S has more than 350 miles of range. People want more range, especially those who live in colder climates where range can get drastically reduced. Other companies will offer more range and if Tesla does not they will fall behind.
