Um.... Not sure who scammed you out of 12k or more so far. Hope you get your money back from the scammers.

At this point my CT has cost me a total of $100 and provided a ton of wistful dreaming, exciting potential, and wayyyy too much content to read about. Sure, it would be nice to be driving my CT around at this point. But for the total amount of entertainment provided so far, the $100 up front cost is one of the best investments I've ever made in my life so far.

But hey, sorry you got scammed. Good luck with all that. Maybe be more careful next time about giving people such large sums of money for a product that isn't even in production yet.

Waited 2 years to reserve so that I would be far back on the list so that I could have plenty of time to save. Reserved 13 months ago. Have 1/3 of my original reserved model saved in 13 months. Probably have 3 more years to save. Do the math.

Not that it's anyone's business how I or anyone else pays for it. To each their own.
I am going to finance part of mine, why? Because I like paying money to use money. I'm not to bright.

I financed my last vehicle below the rate of inflation. That made the financing effectively free.

Financing has alot of use, especially when tax implication and credit scores are involved. Gotta spend money to make money.

Financing my Model Y. It’s 3%… maybe the Cybertruck will be a higher rate and I’ll take a loan against my house instead.

I have savings, but I’d prefer not to tap into that to buy a car. So long as I can get a good rate, I’ll borrow for it.

In June, I bought 54 shares @$660, using an unsecured loan over 6 years at 11%. AU$50,000

Crazy action, and only $TSLA compels me. I had a lightbulb moment to borrow, and I couldn't do it fast enough.

Of course, this is my personal decision, it is not a recommendation. IMO it has to be a long term hold.

I reckon a Tesla 3% car loan will cost peanuts compared to the gains over 5 years.

Yeoch! Nice move… but maybe time to cover now?

Not advice, but that 11% will eat into profits quick.

Interest is reducing as I pay it off.

I need the share price to increase 50% (to $1000 ),by the end of 2028 to cover all interest.
It is almost there already, nor here or there. My eye is on a bigger picture.
I've added 54 shares to my portfolio, which is a long term investment.

Share count over the last 4 years has been my only priority… not price.

Overall it's under 10% of my investment, I don't recommend investing like Cowboys lol. It was an initiative I could afford to take.

On balance, I see people selling and taking profits as more crazy.

My Lord... I ride up to Sturgis and back for a break and come back to 37 pages of well... the same crazytown I left when I left...

Only on this echo chamber can we actually see Elon say (by not saying) they are increasing prices due to ... you know... reality (the one most of the deniers don't live in) and then have all kinds of arguments about how they can/cannot/will/will not change pricing. Wow...

Prices are going to increase. You can either accept that now and prepare for it/pay the increase or not and cry about it later and not buy or go further into debt to buy. But... but... but... Look what happened to Rivian! Who cares, Rivian is not Tesla. The Y is now effectively 20k more than we paid for it 2 1/2 years ago (similar build to similar build with the resulting price increases) and they can't make enough of them. Who can pay 80k for a small SUV? Apparently a lot of people. Who can pay 80k for a truck... I am betting apparently a lot of the same people. Or at least the same kind of people.

The argument keeps happening because one side keeps assuming what the other side is saying instead of listening to what they are actually saying. Nobody is denying prices are going up. All we are saying is we don't know if they are, or aren't. One side is saying prices will go up, and they are stating it as a fact, not an opinion. We aren't saying they are wrong, we are saying they don't know that, stop stating your opinion as fact. It gets worse as they start making up random numbers and state that as the new price. Will the Quad motor cost $250,000? I doubt it, BUT I DON'T KNOW! I'm not saying it wont.

Nobody knows if prices are going up. There was some information released at the shareholders meeting that highly suggests it will, but it is not an absolute. I forget his exact wording, but he said something like price and specifications have changed. Now, if the $70k tri motor is no longer offered but a quad motor with 4 wheel steering is offered for $75k, did the price go up? Now it's just arguing semantics.

Please re-read what you wrote. Then watch this clip. Specifically at 5:45 or so...

Tesla is a Helluva drug. There are any number of people on here denying that prices are going up, in spite of the reality that surrounds them. The CT hasn't been produded yet. There are hundreds of thousands of pre-orders. There is no way Musk is dumb enough to announce a big price hike before they are set to roll off the line. But when they are inevitable, they will HAVE to provide pricing. And it will be more than specified at launch.

Please don't state your opinion or guess as a fact. Your guess may end up being correct. But as of right now, it's what your believe, not what you know. Nobody knows.

Someone mentioned earlier in the thread if tesla raises prices they are going with the alpha super wolf and they have zero $ reservation open. Very nice looking truck and cars but light on info. Apparently they are not easy to get a hold of. Did find a very entertaining interview with the guys doing their slick promo vids 😄

Edit: to me it seems they are doing free reservations to use that list to lure investors to make their truck build a reality

I think the cybertruck will be only 2 versions

QUAD and DUAL like the MODEL S.

I suspect $120k and $100k

with similar features like the model S...

Affordability will be out the door, they will "promise" to build a cheaper version in 2 years.

So all our poor guys with no deep pockets will only get to see one in person but not own it. This won't be the truck for the masses with all the new tech and upgraded specs.

If FORD with so much similar parts isnt able to bring the cost down I doubt CT to be cheaper than lightning or even close to lightning prices. It looks like hummer EV competitor

So an 86% and a 100% increase… got it. I love the way the imaginary price increases have been pouring in. It’s good that we’ve hit a full on double for the dual motor, it’s sort of felt left out with the top end CT getting the 80% increase guesses.

Folks are going to have to push a little harder. Maybe in the next week or so we can get a full on triple for the quad motor. $210k… it’s not that far out there!

To me its interesting what people feel these are worth. Sounds like good news for people hoping to sell these early in auctions with these prices guesses.

Though it does surprise me that people are not looking at other trucks, and their price differences. Other auto makers sell trucks for a lot less than many of their smaller car and SUV offerings, often with similar "specs" in terms of HP etc. It seems many people don't think a truck could possibly less than anything else in the lineup. Its comical, but does highlight the lack of industry knowledge or understanding. Yet... at the same time, any EV that has 500 miles of range is easily worth $100k today regardless.

I think the CT will be $210k for the base. Because... its shiny and big
