If was Gm or Ford that stated our EvTrucks are difficult to build and are in uncharted territory the price would be difficult to buy and pricing would be uncharted territory
Gm Ford $250,000 to $350,000
but
This is Musk and Tesla still CT should be higher than Tesla S Plaid (which is easy to build but premium)
Top end CT $125,000
Entry level CT $80,000
I hope I am wrong, but the writing is on the wall.
I don't know what you are basing your analysis on. I've seen Musk's comments on difficulty to build, and I can't come up with any Cybertruck prices in the six digits, not even bumping up against that on the highest trim level.

You are in the land of bad dreams that are dislocated from reality. It's not my job to figure out how you ended up in such a bad place.

There is no way it will be that high. I keep hearing now that auto sales are way down, Ford reduced the cost of the Lightning, and Ford has their normal trucks sitting at their dealers for lack of demand. And high interest rates are not helping. I can’t see the Cybertruck come in at a high price

If the truck is significantly over the 2019 price announcement it will be "must have it now" buyers first and then demand will taper off.

I am optimistic that Dual Motor pricing will come in around $60-$65k.

Agreed. I've held the 'DUEL' at $59,999 for some time. So, cross you eyes, and dot your teas!! Tesla will get this right.

I find Rivian level price level speculation to be quite implausible. While the Cybertruck is, in original spec form, a capable vehicle, everything we have seen about the trim speaks high volume and basic, not a premium thing (and rightly so). With Ford lowering their price, and Tesla's own Model Y at the same or lower levels than in 2019, I imagine Tesla is aiming for affordability here. With the right specs and price, they could make a serious dent into even ICE truck sales figures, and I have to believe that is what they are going for. A big part of the interest in the Cybertruck was the price. Even a 10K increase in prices from the 2019 prices, in this economic market, is going to cut buyers out. If we go into 6 digits there will be buyers, but it will be a niche product, especially with that trim.

Having said that, there are expensive components like 4WS, air suspension and, of course, stainless steel. So affordability is not a given. But if they can hit those original targets, it's going to go a long way to completely decimating the competition.

I'm guessing the first ones off the line will be mid to high 70's... probably have some standard options.. little bit more than the initial 69,990 price tag. I'm totally guessing. But I feel as if this is a pretty fair assumption. Maybe i'll eat my hat though.

Little surprising, since they are actually making them. Production volume up in the air a bit for sure, but I would think pricing and specs would be more locked in. Makes me think they may start the price high in low volumes, and bring it down as production becomes smoother. Tesla varies the price on products frequently.
Its unlikely to have price drops until they have fulfilled all of the demand which is currently over a million units (so it probably won't happen for years if at all). He only drops prices on other models to increase demand because there is little to no backlog.

I don't understand what you are saying. You can currently, and always have been able to, get your $100 refund if you desire.

price cybertruck at 70k starting and lose almost 60-70% orders and tank the stock or make a truck only 10-12% costly than what was calculated viable in 2019 and make stock go bonkers.

I really think they will have a good strategy about pricing and im sure the did some kind of calcualtion when they annocunced the pricing i really thing cybertruck needs 10-15% more batteries than a model y so 55-60 k cybertruck is possible sure rear wheel steer and airsuspensions costs a bit more but it also costs less to make car modularly and without paint

Stamping steel is the only thing that hard if they can make it efficinent enough they can make it cheaper than mode y

They will have most models under $80k for the rebate...but if the quad is first not sure if they can hit that mark with quad and 500 mi range.

The actual exchange:

James Locke, being a long-time Tesla owner, should know better. Tesla has never divulged ‘either’ specs nor prices, on any vehicle, before it shows up in their configurator, and then they do not need to because they will be available to everyone.
