My favorite Tesla app is “Stats” … even though…

I’ve had a Model X since 2018, still do, and now have a CT AWD since May. After having a few different iPhone apps, the one I’ve stuck with through the years is called “Stats” (for your Tesla)
Stats for your Tesla
and it offers analytics about lots of things, comparing to other Teslas in the Stats fleet, tracks software versions, can view Teslacam videos if transferred to the phone, remembers specific trips through time, and other things. It works for multiple Teslas if you own more than one. The developer MaaDoTaa releases updates frequently (weekly maybe?) adding features and fixing bugs, to which he is very responsive when reported. It’s been around for at least 5 years. The description in the App Store lists the features if you expand it. Huge list.

The reason I’m promoting it is because though it supports the CT in almost every way (including stats, widgets, Apple Watch, relevant alerts, automations) it doesn’t yet have a subcategory of software versions for just the Cybertruck, instead it’s lumped in with “All” models. So, you can figure out what CT software is out there, but instead of drilling down and isolating it the way it does with S 3 X and Y models, it’s in All. I asked him “when” the CT will get its own software display category, he said he’s working on it, but since there are only 200 Cybertrucks in “his” fleet, he’s working on other issues—he doesn’t think a large enough sample to compare to the others. Of course I disagree, I want it even if it is a small sample.

So I’m being selfish pointing this app out and recommending it, so that he will prioritize that feature having more CTs joining the fleet. Please check it out, and I will answer questions if I can.

Giving 3rd parties access to my Tesla account and telemetry gives me the zoinks. I don't know how you guys are brave enough for that lol

I have promoted Stats in a different thread and the developer has always been very accessible particularly on Twitter can’t say about X because I left years ago and will never be going back.

Stats has everything that Tessie does from what I can see including a watch app that works well and it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. When people said Tessie was “expensive” I was shocked to learn that it was $200 per car if you want to buy outright! For me that would literally be $800 and I don’t think what they’re offering is quite worth that at least not in a world where Stats is unavailable alternative.

One purchase of stats covers all of the cars in your fleet.

Highly recommended, again, and always.

It’s part of the EV life. All the way back to when my wife got her first Nissan leaf in 2018, third-party apps just make the ownership proposition easier, better, and gives you far greater situational awareness of what’s going on with your vehicle.

I would suggest to you that any risks are far out weighed by the gains. Tesla still controls the access at the end of the day.

There’s some sort of process where the app sends you to Tesla for authorization and you use your credentials there, not in the app, and Tesla sends them some sort of revocable key.

If you want to allow the app to to map your trips for analytics you need to allow it to access your position from your phone—- or not. It doesn’t get that from Tesla.

For what it’s worth.

Yep, I'm tracking on the architecture and appreciate the heads up nonetheless. The metadata is what I'm concerned about the most. And for reasons I can't talk about on this forum.
