My truck was hit, and damaged, I have Tesla insurance. Any thoughts on what my future holds

According to @ButterEV's previous experience in dealing with Tesla Insurance, it's a pain in the butt. One of the few reasons I'm paying more for non-Tesla insurance.

Best of luck with it. I hope it isn't the frame.
Tesla insurance is the worst and make everything so difficult. I eventually elected to pay out of pocket as my damages came out to less than $1000.

I have since left Tesla insurance and went with State Farm.

lol. Having represented 100s of clients, I can tell you from experience that State Farm is not going to help you if you really get injured and let’s throw all Allstate in there as well. You’re not in good hands and they are not your neighbors. …

First off 👏🏼 for the last sentence

All insurance companies make things difficult but I have had State Farm for over 20 years at work, only used Tesla Insurance for the CT, and in those 20 years they’ve been pretty good about helping me when needed. They’re not perfect but overall I’ve had a good experience with them.

State Farm refuses to work with Tesla on repairs. They say it's Tesla that refuses to work with them. Either way, you are the one that's screwed.

I think he was 20-15’ away from me and he hit the gas instead of the brake, so 10-15 mPH. But it was a Ford Expedition, so very heavy. He hit me above the frame so it may just be body work and then re-wrapped.

I’ve never had that experience with State Farm and have had multiple repairs done on my previous M3 and MS

And yet, half of the Wham Baam perpetrators are uninsured.
There's no gritting teeth reaction.

😬

But mostly it's because they don't always mention when there is insurance but they always do when there isn't. And those who drive badly are just more likely to not have insurance according to the numbers.

That's a dumb way to use insurance. You're paying for their staff and lawyers, use them.

I agree, my partner had a similar situation and did that instead of involving Tesla insurance. After getting strung along for weeks we gave Tesla a call and it kind of started over but suddenly the guilty party’s insurance was ready to pay out.

It's the other guy's fault, you file a claim with his insurance not Tesla insurance.
I've always called my Insurance company first so when the other company wants my statement I refer them to my case # with my Insurance company. I also hear a eye roll over the phone as well, because they know they have to call my Insurance company who takes good care of me. 😆
