“Tesla is also hoping to launch in Florida and New York, as job postings have shown the company’s intention to operate there.

However, it appears it will launch in Nevada before those states, as the company submitted its application to obtain a Testing Registry certification on September 3. It was processed by the state’s Department of Motor Vehicles Office of Business Licensing on September 10.“

Glad I got the app a few weeks ago and secured my place in line.

As someone with family in Vegas and who visits a couple of times a year, I’m excited for this. I’m even more excited if / when they expand service to the area my mother lives because, while she still drives, having Robotaxi will be a game changer for her as she gets older (while being safe for her).

This is a big reason that I convinced my parents to get cars with FSD. If Tesla delivers they will be in an unprecedented position to any generation before them in terms of continued mobility as they continue to age.

Yeah, my father wanted one since 2014 but my mother was against it bc she knew she’d have to learn how to “use” the car and she’s not comfortable with software. He passed away last year (at 93 yo) and she regretted not allowing him to get a Tesla (over the past 6 years, he wanted an X).

My mother did experience FSD in my Y last year and was blown away…maybe there’s still some hope lol.

Yeah my dad was all over it. It took a lot of convincing to get my wife’s mom to do it. I’m talking in a couple of years but she finally relented and she had the same objection as your mom the learning piece. And I used her intellect against her on that she’s a retired nurse why would you want to stop learning? She couldn’t argue with that and that finally won her over.

On a personal note I’m happy about this because if they’re allowing Robo taxis commercially there will be no way that they can justify not letting us to do it privately! So in terms of where I drive it’s here in Nevada, California, Utah and Arizona. Further than that I’m usually using some other form of transportation so I think I’m looking good for the future of legal autonomous driving/riding?

I’ve never actually been in that model x tunnel. I should do that before they close it. I’m there often enough but usually in my own model x. Where in Vegas do you go to get in it and how do you make it happen. Tesla app?
It goes to the strip presumably?

You referring to the Boring Tunnel / Vegas Loop?

That's only on a section of the strip and last I checked (1-2 years ago) it's only available if you're attending the Las Vegas Convention Center for a convention.

Just thought that sounded cool and was always something I wanted to try.
