Like a lot of other locations, Reno has several trucks on site but not enough manpower to quickly prep them for delivery.

I went down there today. The lady in front told me "ten" were delivered last night and that mine was likely one of them.

...she then went back to her sandwich without checking my VIN against inventory. Tesla service.

The lady that helped me there the other day seemed pretty clueless, unaware of the recall which I brought up right away. I was hoping a week would be plenty for them to get my truck out the door, left with no better idea of when I can expect it. Frustrating.

Edit: Just received ability to schedule appointment, Tuesday it is

That’s hot! I assume you just happened to open the app and the delivery tab was enabled? When my VIN populated, there was no notification or email, just by chance “oh look at that.”

I also received no notification when I got the VIN besides checking the app, but I did get a text today to notify me that I can schedule deliver before I saw it in the app.

How do you “ping” the truck?

How do you “ping” the truck?

You don’t. You ask the advisor to locate it. They have access to the location of the truck as long as it has a VIN. However, some advisors won’t tell you out of laziness and just tell you it’s en-route. But as others have said in the forums they can tell you exactly where it is, if it’s still in Austin or some random truck stop.

I tried getting a quote with my existing policy under Costco Connection, but they could not even quote me, citing not enough data.

They even recommended going with Tesla Insurance for the time being until the truck more common. Tesla insurance was $280/mo while progressive was $113/mo with the same coverage.
