I have never driven a Tesla nor have I even sat in one. My vision of owning a Tesla goes back to 2012 and the desire has not gone away. My plans was to buy a 2022 model S because I am an old guy with an old lady so we looked for comfort now. Unfortunately I love trucks and my main vehicle is a F250 King Ranch. When Tesla announced the Cybertruck it was like a dream come true for me and I immediately started plans to get one. I must admit that some of the interior layouts of the Dodge and Ford trucks present themselves very well. The screen install in the dash like it is configured in the model S is more appealing to me. For me personally having 5 seats with a nice console in the front would be nice. My current King Ranch has 4 captains chairs with console in the from and back, that works well for me. Just hoping that the Cybertruck is as cool on the inside as it is on the outside which I love.

If you are looking to buy a cybertruck, get in line and expect at least a two year wait. In the meantime I highly recommend going to your nearest Tesla store and scheduling a test drive. If you are frugal at all the model 3 and the model Y are both comfortable to sit in. I have driven many different brands from Ford to Subaru. I have found that my seat fits Ford products the best as far as long distance comfort is concerned. My wife chose the model 3, (I am in line for the CyberTruck). The model 3 seats are this type of comfortable to me. I would LOVE to afford a model S, so if you are capable of purchasing an S and a CT do so. Buy that S first and enjoy the experience. They are surprising!

Thanks for the suggestions. I am in line for the 3 motor version which I expect to be delivered on my 80th birthday in 2022. Wishful thinking! I am still a pretty good driver but I am all in for the FSD autonomous driving capability.

unless you were a day 1 reservation holder in the usa you will most likely have a 2 year wait so suggest keep your ears open for someone that might change their mind on a cybertruck build and suggest buy their reservation off them (hope elon allows) that way not wait as long unlike us RHD countries like australia who will most likely have to wait 2 years minimum (track record shows)to see 1st batch

A number of people won't follow through on their reservation. Exactly how many, will take time to know. I say, enjoy life, and eventually you'll get something from Tesla saying your Cybertruck is ready - would you like to pick it up, or would you like it to self-deliver? haha peace

Tesla owners, generally speaking, are very nice and love to talk about their vehicles. Another thing about early Tesla adopters and especially those that are shareholders, is that they love to get butts in seats. Many of us believe that if you can get someone to just sit in a Tesla, they will buy a Tesla. Many owners, pre-Covid, would be happy to give perfect strangers a test ride. So, if you can manage to strike up a conversation with a Tesla owner, don't be ashamed to ask to sit in their vehicle, and don't be surprised when they ask if you'd like to go for a ride. This all of course is up to you and your comfort level with getting in a vehicle with someone you dont know, but I think many people liken their first Tesla ride to a religious experience. Best of luck getting into one!

In my area there is a growing population of Tesla cars. For looks the S model is my favorite. We do have a local Tesla dealer here but I have not taken the time to visit. Most likely my first ride will be in my Cybertruck 3 in 2022 right around my 80th birthday. Wishful thinking.

OK, you almost made me drink on that one. I have never driven a Tesla but I have sat in a couple.

Oh, we're not playing Never Have I Ever?

Yes! Do this!

It's not like a normal car dealership, they won't pressure to buy something you don't want. Just tell them you're waiting for a Cybertruck and want to see what Tesla's are all about.

Trust me, there is a reason I don't go test drive one yet. My wife wants to buy a Toyota Sequoia but I am trying to go full electric on all vehicles from here on out. So she is telling me she wants MX. I don't have the cash for that at the moment so I have to avoid getting anywhere near a Tesla dealership till I have the cash. Otherwise, I will have to live with the begging. Currently, it's just a periodic smart-alec remark. If we take a test drive, I will never hear the end of it.

Yeah, I went car shopping with my mom and she kept asking for new features... She went through a Lexus CT, a Subaru Forester, and a Mazda CX-5 in the last ten years. The CT didn't deal with snow well and the dealership was hard to get them to put on snow tires and the mild hybrid didn't do her driving style well. The Forester's radar cruise control didn't work well and its auto-stopping was iffy at best. And her interest rate was higher than the CT and was able to get zero on the Mazda. Its lane-assist is okay, at least it uses different beeps for a couple things, but...

I was starting to think I'd have to get her an X, too.

Your not alone friend. A vast majority of members here have never owned a Tesla.
