If you change your mind as to where you are going, and press "End FSD", so its no longer engaged, and then take over, it still counts towards the end of the streak, so it's completly useless, as far as I can tell...

FSD has proven safer than human drivers so I dont get the safety game? If you encourage people to use it on average you are encouraging people to be safer. All the rest is statistical noise. You supervise it so if you decide your streak is more important than an obvious error about to cause an accident....then thats a bad decision. But on average getting FSD users to Use it more will result in on average increases in safety.

I seem to remember a post where someone used white duct tape on the garage floor to make it park perfectly....need to try to find that post... and try it in my garage.
You can buy parking lot reflective white tape. I put some down in the garage at my last house. It doesn't come up easily though!

Really like this response and the thought process behind it.

This is why I love this community, different perspectives are so very important.

The devs are correctly assuming that the only ones who will really care about gamifying the streak is the ones who are sensible enough in the first place to take over for critical safety issues if needed.

Tesla needs a ton of data on parking and other destination scenarios in order to get ASS and Banish to us. Most people here have been complaining about not having that are also the same ones who refuse to help train the model lmao

When facing a tricky situation, people's reactions are all different. I know I tend to take over early. However, over time, as I've come to trust FSD more and more, I have given FSD a longer leash, and let it run to see how it reacts. That doesn't stop me from taking over, it just means I don't take over early, as I used to anticipate problems.

By the way, the linked story has a video from a year ago. I don't think the current FSD hits that object, today. I would have definitely taken over if I saw it.

The mileage streak counter means little to me, as I still like to choose my parking spots, so I disengage every day. Yes, I've learned, I could let the truck park, then manually choose the spot I like, but why?

The day/week streak counter seems to me to be the similar to the old display. Instead of giving you just the old cumulative FSD percentage, it's also giving you a day-to-day update. Since the old counter rounds up, I think the day counter also rounds. I disengage every day, and I still have a perfect day-to-day streak. Does it matter? No, not really. As you can see in the image below, I'm at 100%, and have a 10-day streak, but I disengage every time I park.

I have white lines in my garage and FSD doesn’t see it. Some times when I pull out it will show up and I have stopped and let it back in, but once you leave and come back home it doesn’t see it anymore. Maybe my lines need to be spread a little.
can you share a picture of the lines setup... wondering is the need to be of a certain width/length.

Yea I’ll get a picture tomorrow. The MY is parked there now. Yea I believe my width may be too narrow. It’s pretty much a squared U shape, I set the back line that way when she backs on she just goes over the back line and stop then that makes sure the front it clear of the door.
