Hey guys! I apologize if this has been discussed here already, I tried searching but I couldn’t find any.
So I noticed that when i adjust both driver and front passenger a/c vent (airflow direction) there is this noise like a motor noise. Only when the fan direction is being moved.

My CT is just new, took delivery Sunday. Not sure if this is normal or just needs more time to adjust. Been using the a/c and moving the fan to have that motor (or whatever makes that fan direction move) maybe adjust overtime but up until now it’s still the same.

I am not sure if it is the motor but i notice it stops when the fan direction is set or met already.

Thanks in advance!

I owned a Model Y but i never had this issue.
called the Tesla service today and they said it shouldn’t be normal and set me up for a service appointment.

I’ve noticed the exact same noises when adjusting my front A/C vents. My CB is about 7 months old. I had the SC replace both front A/C motors last week and the noise is still there. I even compared the noise to another customers Cybertruck on the lot and it’s the same, grinding like sound when adjusting. Looks to be normal, not a big deal as I don’t adjust the vents often. Set and forget.

Hmmm so it seems to be “normal” for CT. Now i wonder why Tesla service set me up for appointment. Maybe less are reporting here in my area. I guess i will find out soon.
But I agree, this doesn’t bother me too much as well, wasn’t even planning on setting up an appointment but they Tesla did it for me. It just weird coz when I’m on my Model Y i don’t experience that weird sound. I think when i get to my appointment i will see if others in the lot have the same grinding sound and if they have, i wont bother pursuing the appointment at all.

I took mine in as well a few months back and was told it was normal for the CT, even though it's quiet on the other models. Not ideal but honestly not that big of a deal. Was already there for something else so had em check it out.

Yeah same not big of a deal, it took me 2 days before i even notice it since i rarely change fan airflow direction, I guess the first time i changed it i was driving so didn’t notice.
I’ll keep my service appointment for now since my CT is just less than a week old in case i notice other concerns.

It's almost worth it just for the free candy... I think I cleaned out ~6-8 mini bags of Haribo gummy bears while waiting... If they had free beer i'd just move in...
