Very disappointed; five percent smaller, no pass through, only five seats, no stainless bed, was hoping for drinking water mechanism, no four motor option, and no mention of deep water crossing capability. This vehicle should be expeditionary class to travel anywhere on this planet.

  1. You don't know the size.
  2. No pass through was promised or on the original prototype.
  3. Five seats is kind of a bummer, but more people prefer five. 🤷‍♀️
  4. The bed is stainless... just not steel.
  5. No drinking water mechanism was in the prototype.
  6. No one from Tesla has said no Quad Motor version.
  7. No one from Tesla has mentioned any change in its wading ability.
  8. This truck is meant to beat the Ford F150. It's meant to match an ICE truck's weight and price. Give it space and time to arrive.

We don't know the final outcome of any of this, nor do we know what's canceled, delayed, or merely not seen. Doomsaying is not at all called for. You'll be able to make your truck what you want it to be.

Tranquillo, bro! Doom and gloom before you have any news?!

Just relax, wait for the specs. Then you can freak out or not. You don’t have to buy it, there’s a Rivian and F150 out there with more on the horizon. Great thing about a capitalist society is the availability of options.

As the 4680 batteries do not seem to be as energy dense as promised on battery day and the recent picture of the duel motor version, I am suspecting that the first model offered up will not be the highest trim and will be the duel motor version with at most 10,000 lbs of towing capacity.

Although I really need 14 k to haul my small crawler, I will take the duel motor version if offered (same as my model 3- I took what was offered in 2018). Bonus is that it may be a bit cheaper.

well what we do KNOW is that the dual variant will make it to production. what we DONT know is if the tri will. I am still hoping and assuming that it will, and dual motor trucks are just cheaper to test and crash. and when making 600 prototypes for testing, most of them would be dual.

Pretty sure they will sell both dual and tri on release, still not sure which they will make more of though.

This isn't another new account posting a doom and gloom depression thread right before the release of the CT trying to get people to abandon their order, is it?

Come on, man. Drinking water mechanism?? Deep water crossing capability?? Sounds like you just want a boat with onboard water pump filtration capability.

The Cybertruck was announced almost a year before Battery Day so Tesla had no choice but to spec its Cybertruck range and charging numbers using 18650s and 2170s. My understanding is that Tesla has met or passed the 2170 in terms of energy density and they may well be into gen 3 by the time most of us get the call.

I don't think the 2170's will work in a structural battery pack, but I guess we will see as they are using them in the semi's

In fairness, the Tesla site still shows the original CT prototype with a picture of the low pass-through in the pickup bed.
