I have to say the one I wished to have seen the most is the Metal bed of the CT. I have not seen anyone mention this, but I think this would have looked awesome.. Sure it would get scratched to all hell, but the look for those of us that don't use the bed often would look pretty epic. I'm not even going to go into the ramp..

Also, anyone able to get the plastic smell out of the bed? Anything I can put on there to neutralize the odor?

Franz said that when they discussed the bed, it was common for truck owners to add a liner. So, why not just make the bed out of the liner material? (I'm also guessing there were engineering challenges to the steel bed that were easily solved with composites.)

The chemical smell is from the smuggler's bay, which I leave open when practical. It helps, but the odor is still noticeable months later. Maybe Elon will make it the next cologne lol

It was never a feature mentioned, but I would love additional L-Track along the bottom of the bed. You could make vault cargo dividers with a couple of tie downs in an X.

I saw this the other day and your post reminded me of it.

The plastic composite bed is so superior to a metal bed this shouldn't even be a question. The first time I cut firewood with my brand new F-150 the bed got multiple dents and scratches. That's why truck owners say bedliners are mandatory. I'm cheap and after spending enough to buy a new truck I don't want to have to spend a bunch more to "protect" it. The dents and scratches in the bed don't impact the useability, so I just looked the other way and let the dents and scratches take over. I've cut two full loads of firewood with the Cybertruck and there is zero visible damage.

But the best thing about the composite bed is I can walk on it in the rain when the bed is not level. The painted steel bed in my F-150 was slicker than snot. Tesla hit this one out of the park by using a composite that has the perfect surface texture. It's kinda grippy so stuff doesn't slide on it too easily, but not so grippy that heavy items can't be easily slid in, and I don't have to worry about falling on my ass when parked on my steep driveway in the rain. The flat black is very easy on the eyes too, when the glare levels are high. At night the strip lighting is not particularly bright, but it does a better job of lighting up the bed contents compared to the F-150's "glare monster" on the back of the cab. That light on the Ford is super bright and irritating, but it's shining in your eyes and makes it difficult to see the bed contents, especially if you have glasses on. Add rain and the situation is just ugly. Tesla got the nighttime lighting just right. It looks cool too.

Option 1: dead body and park in the sun for a couple of days.
Option 2: 15 Lb. bad of Baking Soda from Amazon put in a large cheesecloth bag in the bed for a while.
BTW I haven't tried either...in my CT but just a thought ;)
