That’s my prediction for 2024. With ”off the hook” Cybertruck demand I see this coming to fruition.

I would love to hear opinions from other reservation holders.

I don't believe so. I believe production rate at some point in 2024 will outpace Foundation series demand, which will force Tesla to start selling regular units. When this happens, who knows, maybe the second half of summer I'm thinking.

There’s no way. If only 5% of the 2 million preorders convert to the Foundation Series, that’s 100,000 orders. Tesla will not produce 100,000 trucks in 2024, and I think it’s safe to say that the Foundation Series conversion rate is greater than 5%.

The more compelling question is will we even see regular priced vehicles in 2025? Or will production still fail to meet demand.

I don't expect them to produce 100,000 in 2024.

My rough math is:

2 million pre-orders.
Only 50% choose to proceed with the purchase at all in the next 2-3 years due to price increase.
1,000,000 potential orders, 25% of those will still be RWD, which doesn't arrive until 2025.
This leaves 750,000 potential orders for 2024.
5% seems like a good FS take rate, which comes to 37,500 FS orders in 2024.
37500 units in 2024 is attainable with ease, meaning i believe production rate outpaces FS demand by the end of summer and therefore, regular units will be sold around this time. With every day that passes in 2024, even potential FS buyers might be more inclined to wait.

We shall see who is correct. :D

I fully agree. We will have to wait and see what develops.

In fairness, maybe that’s why he’s gotten so rich?? 😂
Agree it’s fair and even the right thing for a company to do in this case/ sell at highest price market will bare (though it’s very frustrating)

The bait and switch after now 5-6 years of waiting post deposits is not fair and poor corp governance

Elon and co. have repeatedly said for the last couple of years that the CyberTruck would initially cost more than they originally planned in 2019. People seem to be selectively remembering this.

The price will eventually come back down, just like literally every new model Tesla has released over the years.

yes. Tesla said in their earnings call the other day that they're nearly sold out of cyber trucks for 2024

Uh….60 & 70K vs $100 & &120K!
Please. If one doesn’t see this as off the charts then they drunk on the kool aid

And don’t care about FSD included yada yada. It’s not usable. A truck that was supposed to disrupt the ICE competition has now only made the value proposition of ICE much stronger.

for now this is a toy for the rich.

Eh. Are these toys for the rich too? The fact of the matter is that the landscape has changed since 2019.
