Was pleasantly surprised to see an update for Tesla Vision Park Assist this morning.

haven’t had much time to test it out. It seems to do well in a stereotypical parking lot setting (parking lines and cars)

but in other environments…. Inconclusive. More testing needed.

I will probably turn it off, nothing worse than Tesla Vision warning you with loud beeps that you are close to hitting something when in reality you are nowhere near close.
I believe that you can turn the beeps off.

I previously had a 2021 Model S that I bought used from Tesla specifically because I wanted ultrasonic sensors. Maybe I should have kept it....

....nah! Cybertruck is too much awesome. But it really could use ultrasonic sensors and radar to hopefully get some lane keep action going.

Last week Tesla-Vision seemed to think that I was imminently in danger of hitting something and so it slammed on the brakes as I was slowing down coming up to a red light. All I can think of is that I was driving west into the setting sun, and it was hard to see even with my sunglasses on, but it was a very unpleasant experience and came out of nowhere. The truck stopped so hard that at first I thought that somebody had hit me! Good thing whoever was behind me was a safe distance so that they didn't actually hit me.

TACC still appears to have the phantom breaking issue, so I don't use it. FSD seems to have eliminated that behavior all together

Yeah but I wasn't using TACC. It was the Automatic Emergency Braking

Yep, that's what I meant. Tesla Vision is trash, USS 4Life!
Hopefully only trash for now. I think the idea is that eventually later iterations will match or exceed capabilities of cars with USS… clearly not there yet, so other than cost savings, not sure why they removed USS so readily from all new vehicles…especially CT..

It will get refined. When it first dropped on our 2023 Model 3 it was horrible out my back driveway and pulling into the garage.

USS in my 2021 Model Y doesn't really work either. Goes off with proximity for no reason and lags. I've even tested driving in the woods and it's showing warnings at times there is nothing around me then even when I'm right on a bush or object not even a warning.

IMO it's still bad for the front. At least it is on my 22 MS.

Back is maybe 8" off. I know I can roll another 6" after "STOP", but the front is closer to 2.5' on my MS and that's after multiple updates.

I don't think it will ever be as accurate as USS. There's someone who tests it on TMC vs. their USS car.

Pass the joint....cause USS is 100X more accurate than TV! Funny, my 2021 MYLR is spot on...hit that 15" mark, perfect! Try for that on TV? I am far away....the CT I am liking without PA/TV and I guarantee I shut the beeps off, I cannot stand the TV beeps "OMG you are about to hit something"....your eyes prove you aren't even close. It's one reason I never upgrade my MYLR/MSP. I found it that awful!
