Perhaps this is a known issue and I didn’t read it. I’ve been experiencing random phantom braking issues with regular cruise control even with traffic aware turned off. I’ve heard of phantom braking with FSD supervised or beta but didn’t think the Cybertruck’s would have the same issue since we don’t yet have any type of FSD. Has anyone else experienced something similar or perhaps I’m not doing something correctly?

For example: while cruising on an empty freeway at 75 mph with nothing around, the CT will slam on the brakes for no reason. It’s extremely jarring.

Basic TACC still does a ton of phantom braking events on our 2023 Y. It's not as bad as it was ~10 months ago, but we're still getting one every 300-400 miles or so.

I have not experienced significant phantom braking on my CT. I was on a 400 mile road trip up I5 with only minor slowdown issues. A full stop phantom brake is very annoying and a safety issue. I would press the bug report when it happens and follow up with a service appointment. You can create a bug report by pressing the squircle mike and say “Bug report on phantom braking”.

Yeah this happens to all my Teslas, M3, MY, Cyberbeast. Sometimes even under FSD with my MY. It also occur on my Rivians and Ford F150s. It's probably a combination of software and hardware glitches. Like everything else, nothing is perfect...:p

My Model Y will do it on the express lane in Orlando for some reason. Seems like when it sees a wall on the side it thinks it’s going to crash.

Phantom braking is gone from my X with the last few updates. I think we have a 1947 version of cruise on the CT. Honestly ... it can see 80 meters and if there is someone crossing the path and just getting out of path at 80 meters, expect a jolt! Also bicycles on edge of road and pedestrians approaching path. I am fine but driving, you need have your foot on accelerator, not the brake!
