Does anyone have a pixel 7 pro and has auto open frunk working?

I’ve done all possible troubleshooting and it’s not working. Unsure if this is something with the pixel 7 Pro or if this feature on android in general is a bit buggy at the moment. Or, just me?

Your phone doesn't support it according to this Tesla rep.

Note: Background UWB ranging is supported on all devices except for the following:

  • Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 7 Pro, and Pixel Fold.
  • Samsung phones with Android 13 or lower.
  • Samsung Chinese phones with Android 14 or lower.

Works on the Samsung Galaxies.
Ah, interesting. I actually found out about the background ranging thing last week while researching the topic and how the pixel 7 Pro lacked this feature. I did not find any Tesla documentation citing this though. I suppose that’s that then.

Thanks for the info!

I just got a brand new Motorola Razr + and found out that auto frunk doesn't open for me. Apparently this phone doesn't support Ultrawide Band therefore no auto frunk open for me either. :(

it supports Ultra Wide Band. I was waiting for it specifically for this reason. only the 2025 Ultra does so.

You aren’t missing much. Auto opening frunk is disabled most of the time on mine because it always opens when I’m cleaning the bugs off the front. I only want it to open when I want it to, and unfortunately there’s no way to tell it when I do other than push a button lol

It must support Ultra Wideband with background ranging. If you’ve gone through all the steps and it does nothing when you stand at the front it’s likely not compatible unfortunately.

I bought this pixel 7 pro for the same reason, and while it supports uwb, it does not support background ranging.

i agree with the above post , I’ve used it with an iPhone and using the button is just easier.

you can disable it at home, which would take care of cleaning, but i want it for grocery runs and home depot, and hotels. i have to stop on the way to my truck, sometimes in the rain, and open the frunk with either my phone or my watch.
