Seems like this needs a poll... assuming the no resale / buyback provisions are real, do you like it, hate it, does it change your intent to purchase?

I seriously doubt it will stop the flipping. If someone ordered 10 or 100 CTs with the intention of flipping, how would this deter them? That's the downside of having a $100 fully refundable reservation fee. No risk. Tesla would have to stifle the buyers somehow. The no resale provision should cut out all the flippers looking to make a buck at the buyers expense.

It's $50K or the value of the consideration of the sale, whichever is higher. So basically, the sale price (or whatever was traded)My understanding is there is a $50,000 fine. Rather doubt there's 50k profit to be made.

GM did that, but I don't see it in the Cybertruck clause.Isn't there also the possibility of loss of warranty? That would also be a deterrent.
I don't see anything on my CT Order Agreement.
(Thanks @scottf200 for the transcription)Tesla Cybertruck clause said:For Cybertruck Only: You understand and acknowledge that the Cybertruck will first be released in limited quantity. You agree that you will not sell or otherwise attempt to sell the Vehicle within the first year following your Vehicle’s delivery date.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, if you must sell the Vehicle within the first year following its delivery date for any unforeseen reason, and Tesla agrees that your reason warrants an exception to its no reseller policy, you agree to notify Tesla in writing and give Tesla reasonable time to purchase the Vehicle from you at its sole discretion and at the purchase price listed on your Final Price Sheet less $0.25/mile driven, reasonable wear and tear, and the cost to repair the Vehicle to Tesla’s Used Vehicle Cosmetic and Mechanical Standards.
If Tesla declines to purchase your Vehicle, you may then resell your Vehicle to a third party only after receiving written consent from Tesla.
You agree that in the event you breach this provision, or Tesla has reasonable belief that you are about to breach this provision, Tesla may seek injunctive relief to prevent the transfer of title of the Vehicle or demand liquidated damages from you in the amount of $50,000 or the value received as consideration for the sale or transfer, whichever is greater. Tesla may also refuse to sell you any future vehicles.
Then you're still buying. Because those things would have to be true for anyone to buy.The option I need for this poll is not available.
My answer is; The no resale policy make no difference to me and I don't know if I'm buying because I don't know the price or range yet.
It would be nice, and then it wouldn't cost us all a fortune to see the next Swifty concert. But you don't have to register concert tickets...The no resale provision should cut out all the flippers looking to make a buck at the buyers expense.
If Tesla can pull this off, then why not Live Nation / Ticket Master.
Rick
Actually they are trying to implement this policy and I believe it's also up to the artist to sign onto the policy. It would be nice, and then it wouldn't cost us all a fortune to see the next Swifty concert. But you don't have to register concert tickets...
I think so. There are ways to do it, just like combatting software piracy. I just meant they don't have the options that car sales do. I'm happy about any of it. Scalpers are parasites.Actually they are trying to implement this policy and I believe it's also up to the artist to sign onto the policy.
Very simple..Tickets are electronic and issued via email to the buyer. Shouldn't be that difficult to prevent tickets from being resold and transferred to another email address. Or don't email the ticket until just hours before to prevent a sale to another party.
Of course I'm not an IT person, but sounds pretty feasible to cut out the middleman.

Hasn’t Tesla done other things, like denying charging? That would be a huge deterrent for me.Isn't there also the possibility of loss of warranty? That would also be a deterrent.
