Potential Sunshade Option

I’m in Az and been desperate to find a decent quick and easy from windshield sunshade option. Just got this guy from Amazon today and I think it’s not bad. We’ll see how long it actually hold up, but I like that it folds up so small, umbrella style. Only put it up a couple times so still figuring out the easiest way, but it is possible to deploy it sitting in the driver seat, just move both mirrors to side and make sure all the arms are above the dash and you can pop it open without too much difficulty. The main shaft of the umbrella bends and has a soft rubber end, so I am not too worried about marring the dash, I aim it for the back of the screen. We’ll see.

received mine yesterday... went to try it out, but very awkward to open that big "umbrella" inside the cab, and collapsing it, is tricky. still looking for a better solution, although this is cheap at $50 from amazon.

I just tried this one, but it was just too much trouble for me. It has so much material due to its size and having to straighten the folded rib-ends, and I didn't like having to be underneath it while opening it up. It was a bit claustrophobic being under the umbrella while inside, and also trying to avoid hitting the screen, steering wheel and the rear view mirror, and I probably looked ridiculous wrestling with it to someone watching, lol. As a tip, since the handle rotates, I did find it seated better against the windshield if you rotate the handle towards the front instead of trying to jam it against the screen. I'm pretty coordinated and like gadgets and appreciate the small size to store, but there was no way my husband would put up with trying to install this. I returned it and will try another style and see how that works.

I have the one from HeatShield. It takes a bit to put up and take down as it is 2 pieces and is pricey but seems to work good.

Same here. Cumbersome af but ok for long-term parking. I reached out to see whether or not the two-piece design choice was due to not having "sheet size" or just easier to install. They said a little bit of both.

Made my own for under $30 , sunshade material from Jo Anne’s fabrics trimmed to fit perfectly, seamed the edges sewed in magnets ( cabinet magnet sets of Amazon) , then double sided taped metal plates on windshield, works perfectly and since it’s just fabric no boards etc so very compact easy storage.
