Had my assigned electricians come out on April 30th to install the Powershare equipment.
My labor cost was a little over $2,300, which is lower than most quotes I've seen, but my electrical setup was pretty easy to manipulate. It took two installers a little less than four hours to complete the install of the Gateway and Universal Wall Connector.

I don't have any Powerwalls, no solar, and I didn't have them isolate certain breakers to a separate box for the backup.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with the install and the features. It's nice to keep an eye on my whole house energy usage (and double check what my power company is stating). I have two a/c units and work from home. I'm averaging between 30-40kwh per day of usage.

I'm still waiting for the software updates to test the actual Powershare from the Cybertruck. Made a quick explainer for people who don't know about the feature and the process:

The 'Tesla Certified' installer requirement and their cost demands need to be sorted out.

Glad you are happy and appreciate the effort.

Thanks. Didn't watch video yet.

2AC units? We're installers concerned about LRA for the compressors? My AC is 134 LRA. Truck is limited to 110 I think. Did they install soft start devices?

Did they say anything about being able to add PowerWall to your system?

Thanks for the video and info. I was curious about how much it would cost to install Powershare equipment. I don't have powerwalls or solar either.

Question... how long after you ordered your Cybertruck did you receive an email to get a tech out to install the equipment? Will this happen before or after I pickup my Cybertruck? I am hoping before so I will be able to charge my Cybertruck at home with the wall connector when I pickup my truck.

He covers that in the video. Very detailed.

Anyone can install soft start devices. It's simple.

This is very good, thank you. Not exactly on-topic but want to get the word out there with the elimination of the referral program this summer, Tesla has allowed a user to select a Wall Charger and have it sent directly to you. In years past this was possible, but earlier this year you had to have the Wall Charger sent to an electrician. I ordered a CT belt buckle and a universal wall charger and received them yesterday. I'll have them available for an electrician to install when I get some bids. The electricians must be busy as it is really hard to get them to respond to a phone call or submit a proposal in my area of SoCal.

Exactly, even at $2,300 these crooks charged him $300/hr. That's way more than my attorney's rates. Electricians are more around $75-$100/hr. And not sure why they sent two guys, this is a one man job.

The Powerwall installer that came to give me a bid said it was one price to have it drive five of my breakers and about $1200 more if I wanted to have it drive a few more. Meaning I have to decide which rooms I'd want to have lights working, if I want both refrigerators to work, do I want the A/C to work or save that to power some other item or room.

This makes it sound like the entire panel is powered (meaning every outlet/circuit in the house)???

I require two soft starts to be installed in my system (Truck has been delivered I'm waiting on the company to book my install time). Tesla isn't installing power walls in my area yet but the company that is installing my charger and gateway asked me about my powerwall interest and stated they would report the answer back to Tesla. They indicated that a powerwall wouldn't be difficult to add to the system in the future. I intend to add 1 to 2 when they become available.

Lots of advantages with PowerWall3. One is soft start not required since PW 3 does 185 LRA (vs 110 for truck with 3V gateway).

Yeah Tesla says Powerwalls can be added to V3 gateway. But not now. They said it was possible to do, but would require special assistance from Tesla to turn off the site controller in V3 gateway. They said If I wanted PowerWall now, I should use Backup gateway 2/3 or Power Switch. And in that case PowerShare would work at a later date.

Chicken or egg is my dilemma....
