PSA: Wealthfront caps transfers at $50k!

Just an FYI if you're transferring more than $50k from Wealthfront via Plain it won't tell you, but the payment will bounce. I learned the hard way so you don't have to. I was scheduled to pick up my CT on 2/24 and made my downpayment through Wealthfront on 2/21. I got an email from Wealthfront on 2/23 stating the withdrawal was declined. It's a bummer, but a quick fix is transferring to my local bank and doing a cashier's check. I won't be able to pick up my CT until Tuesday. Hopefully, this helps someone who is using Wealthfront, and if you don't know what Wealthfront you are missing out on a high-yield saving account. UPDATE: While Wealthfront has a limit on how much you can withdraw through Plaid the transfer to my local credit union happened the same day. Started the transfer around 7 am and the funds were available at my local credit union around 8 PM.

Dang that is a bummer to get your delivery date bumped by a day.......or maybe 3 due to the weekend?

Thanks for heads up though, might impact other financial institutions as if your paying cash that is going to be a BIG chunk of change moving over.

i assume you couldnt do 2 smaller payments with wealthfront they make you do it all in 1 transaction ?

i assume you couldnt do 2 smaller payments with wealthfront they make you do it all in 1 transaction ?

Could have, but the limit is one per day.

i will probbally do 2 seperate transactions in advance then or at least 1 in advance and 1 the day of to make sure it works out lol
