It’s from CNBC however I have already tried searching for the interview but couldn’t find the one from today.

Tesla‘s Q2 earning call will be live-streamed today at 2pm PST. Besides financials Elon usually talks about products, details and timelines. Electrek and Teslarati will have a lot of info to report tomorrow!

Stopped watching listening to earnings reports quite some time ago, but make an exception this time. More interested in the commentary than the numbers.

I just... What economy of scale? Do people not realize that GM hasn't significantly changed the number of EVs it sells every year over the last five?
Based on the incentives you see on them, I’d say the problem with the Bolt is selling them, not making them.

It’s hard to sell an EV which looks like a slightly bigger Chevy Spark but costs $20,000 more. It is uglier than the Model 3, gets less range, has worse performance, less storage, and before Tesla raised it’s prices, was only marginally less expensive. (Now the gap is a lot bigger).

From this angle, can you really tell these vehicles apart?
The Trax is a teensy bit bigger than the Spark or Bolt but yeesh. They're all no more than a few inches apart in size.

Rivian will be a niche player in the BEV pickup market. I predict sales volume will be similar to the Ford Raptor which sells roughly 25k units per year. The steep MSRP, lack of physical service centers and no Supercharging network will make a lot of potential buyers look at the competition.
That's consumer centric thinking. Amazon, Ford, and others put down an additional $2.5B into Rivian this week. There's plenty of scale in selling enterprise Sprinter and small-cargo e-vans with Ford and Amazon doing fleet management software. Sure, the consumer side will be thin initially but they have the backing, the culture, and the EV ground up perspective.

I can see Rivian being the Chevrolet that bought GM. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet#History

Wow, who is this idiot?

Tesla's stock didn't fall after the bitcoin announcement. It was already shifting, following the market. Did the entire market sector fall because of bitcoin? Bitcoin is a headwind? They have a tiny amount in Bitcoin, compared to their profits.

Market share couldn't be maintained unless Tesla was building factories at the same rate as everyone. And that's ridiculous. They lost market shares while maxing out production and sales and reducing inventory.

Tesla has more than one industry, VW doesn't. And they're growing their sales 50% every year. VW doesn't.

And this thing about the credits... WTF. Who wouldn't take advantage of credits? Are they not supposed to take cash?

And now GM's fires are bad for Tesla ... And now the Tesla fires are bad? This guy is so dishonest.
