Hello, there have been quite a few people that have received high quotes for the Tesla powershare installs. I'd like to know what people are being quoted/charged and how complicated the installs are.
It seems like Qmerit contractors know what they will get and figure they can charge ~$X amount over that and people will accept it.

For other topics in regards to powershare please see these:

powershare-is-activated-enabled

I've also made this post in another thread if you need to reach out to Tesla in regards to your powershare install and problems dealing with Qmerit and contractors.
https://www.cybertruckownersclub.co...-owners-after-may-22.23829/page-3#post-406141
It is important to note that once you have accepted a bid Qmerit is no longer in the loop and will not take any responsibility for the contractor, their work, or any equipment problems. They are just a middle man that sends you a contractor and gets the $4000 from Tesla, please read the attached terms of use for details (especially section 2).

I got one quote for $3900, and requested another quote. Waiting on it now, looks like the contractor has submitted their quote, just waiting for qmerit to add their markup. Will update when it comes in.

Edit: New quote came in at $3700. Think I’m going to pull the trigger.

I've attached my quote and will explain the simplicity of my install. I find my price of about $5600 to be oddly similar to some others I've heard who also have had simple installs.

The 3V unit will be mounted right next to the existing breaker panel (less than 6") and has a clear path (3 holes I've drilled/will drill) to the mounting on the exterior of the house for the charge unit. It will be ~35' of cable and will be mounted in open basement cross braces. This install will not require cutting into walls/etc and will only be moving 2 20A circuits over.

It is also worth noting that Qmerit didn't even send all the information I provided them to the contractor. I was contacted by the contractor for the details I had already provided. I gave the basics of the install to the contractor over the phone, sent them about 10 pictures, and received this quote from Qmerit with no other contact.

Verbatim my quote and cost. Haha.

Found a certified installer from their site who quoted 2k after an video chat. Tesla power share support said any certified installer is GTG.

Just waiting for delivery and I'll update once we get going.

Qmerit has reached out to me three, maybe 4 times saying they've assigned a contractor and then after a week saying never mind we're still looking.....

I'm in Michigan, so this purely for my information.
Are you able to get the $4k installation credit from Tesla for pre-May 23 Beast orders? I'm dealing with the Qmerit quoting process because the preferred installer is not in their network.

Yes, as long as they are a Tesla Powershare Installer they will need to create a PO in their Tesla Partner portal and submit it to Tesla to receive credit... I will say that they may have to wait a while for Tesla to pay them as their responsiveness has not been great.

Thank you @Car Charger Specialists this is the kind of discourse I am trying to get going here. People posting their quotes and real world install costs. I know Qmerit and their contractors are gouging on this (and not just with Tesla owners, I've seen Ford owner stories as well).

Yes sir. They might be gouging some for sure, but Qmerit also has fee's associated with installation for providing their platform/services that drive up the cost. It also cost the contractor $$$ to be a Qmerit partner installer, so they might be marking up the jobs to recoup that investment. When Tesla let go of their Charging Team and hired Qmerit to facilitate the PowerShare installations we looked into becoming a partner installer with them. Due to the cost of entry/ongoing cost of doing business with them, and the fact that they couldn't guarantee work in the metro Atlanta area for us, we decided not to move forward with them. That is one of the reasons we're a sponsor here. For us to continue to get this work, we have to get out in front of the purchase process and let CT owners know that there are non-Qmerit options.

I hope this helps!
