Leaving the gym today the speakers start beeping and a red alert message on the screen: PULL OVER SAFELY Critical issue detected.

I then drove it to a parking lot and got out of the vehicle to try to restart it. Same error messages. Those errors went away after a few minutes so I put it in reverse, drove a few feet, then the beeping/alert came back. Called roadside and they told me to try rebooting the system by holding the two scroll buttons down until the screen restarts with the Cybertruck logo. This didn’t help, alerts came back so they called a tow truck to take it to the service center.

Service center calls me when the truck arrives and says it will “be some time before they can check it out”. I asked what he meant by that and he said they have some cars that have been sitting for 6 days and haven’t been looked at yet as they are backlogged. 🤬

I’ll be picking up the loaner vehicle they offered tomorrow. Assuming it will be 2-3 weeks or more before I see my truck again.

Miles: 500
Days driven: 3
VIN: 8800

Thanks I love the gloss black as well. According to other owner’s reports it doesn’t seem to be a simple fix so it could be a few weeks. Hoping for the best.

Yeah! That’s the downside of being early adopters, somebody has to do it. I would have taken early delivery as well if my RV# had come up. unfortunately I’m a 113888…, so maybe late Summer, early Fall.

I am starting to really wonder if this a manufacturing failure more than parts….

Same shit on my truck, luckily it happened before delivery and it’s in service now, but I am VIN9299….

I asked rep if these are newly designed parts that they are replacing them with….she didn’t know…
I am gonna say it’s not, otherwise those new parts should have been on the manufacturing line considering this issue has been around since early VIN numbers….

That leaves two options.

1. They are just banking that only a % of these parts are failing and letting us take the gamble.(my problem with this option is how do we know we won’t get unlucky on the next part(s) also?

2. It’s a manufacturing defect, ie something wasn’t connected correctly or something is coming loose later due to faulty connections or locking mechanism at the connector.

Otherwise there would be a recall on these said parts by now???

I dunno part of me wants to tell them to give me a new VIN, I have that option since I haven’t taken delivery yet…but how do I know and you can’t know if the next truck will have same damn problem? So part of me thinks I should just let it get the fix especially since I’m not making payments yet.

I would be way more pissed in your situation.

Moreover I don’t won’t to end up like this guy!

Wow that guy’s experience is brutal. I can only hope the issues don’t continue after I get the truck back but that seems to be the case with several owners.

My other issue is why can they ship a complete truck overnight from Austin to my service center but parts are taking over a week?? Like why is not as much of a priority!?!

Where did you see overnight delivery for the truck? If it was vin to delivery that just means the truck was already there.

It’s weird that it fails so soon. Even before delivery. Seems like it must be during manufacturing they make a mistake? Or else you would think they would revise the part.

I haven't been following all the failures, but the few earlier ones have said it was a bad low voltage wiring harness or something? That could mean failure in the harness (design or manufacturing) or failure in the assembly (loose connection). Whatever end of line testing they're doing isn't catching it and some real world driving and/or charging cycles cause the failure to happen. I wish we could institute a rule to state your VIN range whenever you post an issue so we can gather data on it.

Yea if it was a part that needed reengineering they’d probably have solved it by now. If this continues with all the new vins they’ll have some major troubles on their hands.

That’s why I posted my vin range so everyone could take note that it’s a more recent vin.
