Replace rear view mirror with camera?

Looking to add a replacement for the interior rear view mirror.
something where camera is located on top of the truck.

I see tons on Amazon etc and a few in thread here.

wanted to update on what’s available.

power to it … any 48v yet?

I don’t think there is a yet a true plug in play version for the Cybertruck. All are generic, people modified versions that I have seen so far. Hoping some company does create a true plug in play unit designed for CyberTruck.

SO this one is the one I got my eye on. I just wish there was a rear cover over the vault that's aero dynamic and covers the camera so it doesn't look like a weird object stuck to the top of the vault. Other option is to follow their directions but seems like a low mount down by the plate or lower on the bumper.

Do you think the side of hitch camera location would show rear traffic if rear gate is down?

Here was my solution, I love it, just wish the mirror had a brightness setting.

I am waiting for a true rear-view mirror camera designed for the CT. Hopefully, from TESLA!!

Everything I am seeing on the market is a back-up camera system developed for ICE vehicles with NO camera or recording system. They all have a forward-looking camera and a separate recording system. We don't need any of that.

The typical FOV for a backup camera system is 100-140 degrees, but a 40-50 degree FOV more correctly displays what a true rear-view mirror would show. IMHO, this is the weakest system in the entire CT.

Maybe I need to just embrace the "First rule of Italian driving...."

1. I don't think Tesla will ever make anything and sell it. That would be an admittance that they did it wrong the first time.
2. I went through about8 cameras finding one that had the fight FOV, I had one with 120 that was the most natural. I could turn on and off the screen, and the mirror reflection was almost perfect. I settled with one that had 130 because it it had a higher resolution. It's very hard to find a decent camera with less than 170.

If you have your camera down by the hitch/license plate you'll see traffic w/ tailgate down.

Hansshow makes a comment about also allowing for a additional l camera support for what sounds like a trailer/caravan too but have to reach out to them for that.

I wouldn't mind if it was on that plate across the top of the vault if it looked more aerodynamic and less like a goofy webcam lol.
