So I wonder what the total announced EV-only capacity for trucks there will be in the next few years. Rivian looks like 600k. Not sure how many there will be for Tesla once GigaTexas is up. Then there are the other trucks coming. If we add up all the announced capacity, how does that compare to the ICE truck production that has been running the last few years?

Well, Tesla has clearly gone up from their 225k goal, but how far we don't know. The Model 3 sold as many in 2020 alone as were sitting as pre-orders four years prior.

But assuming generous numbers we know a theoretical maximum of 750k Cybertruck for Tesla, 600k (including delivery trucks) for Rivian, 120k from Ford maximum until their next model...

A few hundred to a thousand delivery vans each from Arrival, Lion, Freightliner, Nissan, maybe Nikola completes their come-back in the commercial market... there are a few others, too.

Light trucks accounted for 11 million of the 17 million light cars and trucks sold in 2020. (A bunch of those are SUVs, remember, lets them skip some safety and emissions. A Toyota RAV4 is still a 'light truck'.)

Lots of headroom here.

Saw another Rivian in the wild, this one was green with reindeer antler ornaments clipped on to the rear passenger windows. Attractive woman driving.
