I talked to a guy with a Cybertruck at a Supercharger the other day and I asked how he liked it. He said it was awesome, but was surprised at how often he was getting double “fingered” while driving it. He asked me if I experienced this (I have a 2015 Model S), and I said in the early days I got coal rolled a couple of times, but mostly had very positive reactions .. I felt like a rock star most often in fact. It seems more and more people today are reacting very negatively to Cybertruck, and I’m wondering where the hate is coming from?

My question is .. do you guys think the root is anti Musk sentiment.. or is it coming from very conservative (small c) good old boys who only like traditional looking trucks? Both?

Ive had my CT since early June, and the hate was strong even then so has nothing to do with Elon.. Seems like the triangular shape triggers something in certain individuals that leads them to lose their minds, only explanation I have to.be honest..

Initially it was the EV haters in general. IMO, a lot of it had to do with the resentment of being told by the government (or others) they would be forced to give up their ICE trucks and comply with owning an EV.

Now it seems it is almost exclusively anti MUSK sentiment, that is the ELON haters, all liberals (small L). The CT, more than any other TESLA, is literally seen as the personification of ELON.

So, we drive the best vehicle in the world, and it is hated by almost everyone. Go figure. I try to be an ambassador.

the design/shape of pick up truck is firmly imprinted in our brain-Cybertruck look/design gives a strong jerk or polarizing impact. Hence, kids love it b/c they're fresh & open to new/unique things. Once people test drive CT it's sold-this is also true with most/all Tesla vehicles.

I'll be completely honest....... . . ..I’m from Northern California, and my CT has a look with the wrap that leaves people genuinely perplexed. Most folks can’t quite figure out what it is. I’ve even driven past protests and always seem to get a free pass but yet others behind me get spit on. I hardly ever get any hate. When I do, it’s usually from a small crowd, and let’s just say, most of them are missing teeth and have a Southern accent.
