I was watching an episode of Kim Java and it was indicated that there was a rumor that the rear camera would get a water sprayer.

I'm really hoping that current cyber truck owners will get the option to change their tailgate to include this option.

I just got my cyber truck and I've only driven about 20 mi around farmlands and my rear camera is already dusty and hard to see with.

I've not seen or heard this.

A washer line from front to back would not be easy. The alternative would be maybe a washer reservoir in the tailgate or nearby, but seems difficult as well.

I'd be surprised if this happened but who knows.

I don't know but I agree rear is more likely to get obstructed than front, not sure why they didn't do both. Live on gravel road, so I'm already used to wiping it off when I park, and on road trips when I charge so not really that big a deal...

I would be surprised if it does not happen. Will take a revivor and a pump but plenty of room in the tailgate to put it in there. Pretty much a must have for a truck with no visibility out the rear view mirror, side mirrors and a covered up camera are not enough to operate it safely so I would be surprised if this is not shipping standard in a month or two.

I'm the same way, not been a big deal with either f my cars so far. And you still have the side mirrors.

I dare say that it is way too early for Tesla to be thinking about changes like that.

So far, there only seems to be a perceived need for it, when the tonneau cover is closed AND the side mirrors are blocked. It's mainly been there for FSD.

I use the rear camera all the time in my other cars. Like, it's disconcerting when I don't have one now. I just expect it when backing in to or out of parking spaces, and turning around in my driveway for instance.

But what I really worry about is If FSD is dependent on having a rear camera input. The FSD beta manual pages (e.g. for the Model Y) I've read state that that is the case. So, if this dirty camera issue impacts FSD, they absolutely need to fix it.

I don't remember her saying it was coming, only that it would be nice. And then something about the front wiper being redesigned soon.

The tonneau cover will be closed a majority of the time. The main purpose of that camera is a rear view mirror, not FSD.

It would be simpler and preferable for me for Tesla to add a roofline rear camera—no plumbing needed. It would be above the tire spray for better visibility. It would also allow you to see with the tailgate down when you are carrying a large load or backing up with the tailgate down.

I saw a similar setup on a car and it looked great. A small blister fairing protected the camera while streamlining it. I don't know where it would fit exactly on the CT, but it's worth looking into for me.

I'm not getting the Foundation Series, and I look forward to all of them figuring out the initial issues like this so the normal version is ready to go :D

Then why have the other Teslas had it and it's advertised as a part of the FSD vision system?

Since it was there and they had the rear-view option anyway, all they did for the Cybertruck is to make the display smaller and allow it to be pinned. It's not revolutionary, it's a slight modification.
