Scalpers after release

There are now millions of people waiting in line for a CT, I wonder what the scalpers will be selling there place in the line for after launch? I suspect like the PS5 the going rate for a CT will be greater than twice the RRP.

As long as you have your reservation number you will be in the line waiting for your CT.

It’s millions of people now waiting in line and as we get nearer to launch there will be even more people joining the back of the line.

I can see more people going the back of the line every year than CTs can be produced. The waiting list will keep growing more than they can fullfill orders.

scalpers will have their day and I expect for the lucky ones who are near the front of the line will be able to sell for more than twice what they paid for it

Generally not a fan of scalpers. But I'm also not interested in leaving money on the table. I have a decent reservation number and I live in Texas.

If I take delivery and don't like it, I'm going to sell it for whatever the market will pay. If that's twice as much as I paid for it, well, good for me.

nope that was a direct copy/paste sooo.. to put commas in it #5,950,096
according to the calculator there are almost six million reservations ahead of me.. I suspect strongly the calculator is fubar and has a couple of million model y's in there... however i EASILY believe it is at least 3 million as the CT reservations hit 1 million by 2021 and there has been a LOT of hype in 2022,2023 <i made my reservation in 2023> sooo yeahh it is probably going to take Tesla a few years just to clear out the reservations.

Yes, we do.

Tesla's decisions are arbitrary and not subject to review. If they decide you're a "flipper" then it's adiós muchachos. It's written into the sales contract, and there's ample examples on TMC of the banned weeping and wailing.

OK point made however, I would reframe it as potential for a ban. Your post kind of implied that if you flip it or sell your car you will be banned categorically, so I assume that was not your intent
