Years ago Autopilot had a quirk that when you were passing a Semi on the highway that autopilot would actually move your Tesla closer to the Semi, instead of being in the center of the lane you would be further to the side with the Semi (typically Semi on your right as you passed on the left.

This behavior was later altered to where your Tesla would move away from the Semi by moving towards the opposite side of the lane away from the Semi. This is what owners asked for.

I noticed this past week when using FSD on the highway that it was back to hugging Semis meaning it was getting closer to them not further away.

Can others here confirm the same behavior as I'm wondering if it is all Cybertruck FSD implementations or if some setting in FSD is causing this behavior to return?

I experience this too. At first I thought it was my imagination because the truck is just wider than my model 3. But no, it is sexually attracted to other trucks. It comes so close sometimes for no good reason. I just speed up or change lanes if I don’t want to abort autopilot.

It might be because it’s easier for the semi driver to see things closer to the trailer, not farther away

It seems to be inconsistent. Most of the time my CT does fine, but sometime it hugs either the right siee or the left side of the lane. The interesting part is that I seem to be able to put pressure on the steering to guide the truck back to the center, after which the truck does fine again.

Yea I have noticed this while driving. It just generally wanted to be closer to the lane divider, not just with Semis….

The term was pretty funny then. Truck lust.
