Simple, quick pop up tent in bed

I like sleeping outside, but with all the rain the bugs have been a problem. I was looking at netting for the truck bed, but remembered I had a 4 person pop up tent. We have a cabin now, so usually I’m sleeping outside or in the cabin. I don’t like the tent on the ground because of the wild pigs, and lately a bison has been on the cameras.

This tent is a quick toss up and squeezes nicely in the bed. I think it’s available from Walmart or Amazon. It’s nice to be outside and hear all the nighttime sounds.

I went with cushions after two inflatable mattresses eventually got holes.

I love solutions like this. Looks like shit but practical and extremely comfortable. I am suspicious of solutions that try too hard to fit the futuristic look of the CT. It’s camping!

Great when you're not carrying anything, but that's not a practical reality - spare tire, water, generator, fridge... Build a platform attaching to the L-track, and setup the tent on top of that.

I can inflate this and close the tailgate. This is one of the best air mattresses I've ever gotten. It is not your normal rubber/pvc material but fiber/rubberized cloth (TPU). Generally have to find it on ebay these days (just past underlined text in ebay).

A little pricey but hands down my favorite. I use it to make the vault friendlier for light shows/hayrides type things. It’s an incredible mattress and as a bonus fits nicely in my cybertent. If you set up your tent on top of it you’d be hard to wake up. There are a few versions I have seen (though I think all genuinely inflatable which I personally hate) that have a piece for the tailgate too
