What I like here is that another tech company is looking at the field. A large part of the traditional car companies problem of switching to EV is culture. You can change tech quickly, it is much harder to change cultural attitudes and mares.

Apple dropped out, finding it was harder than they guessed as Tesla made it look easy.

Dyson spent 1/2 Billion and gave up.

My only concern here is the studio that made the Jaguar EV is the same one doing the Sony. Read enough about the Jaguar that convinced me CT is the way to go.

I lost all appetite for Sony back in 2005 when they made Vaio compuers and charged 3 times as much as the other guy bc of the name....only hardware of theirs i would consider would be an AV receiver....

Welcome to the game though i guess?!

If they would have teamed up with Toyota they would have a chance at making it.

I think Sony is pushing forward because the other car companies weren't interested in their tech.

Which I think is good for us, we need competition to push the market forward. And Sony should be able to break the stranglehold of the dealer system in Japan.

Yamaha is making electric motors for EV's now.

Their AV receivers are top notch, have always been better than Sony. Would like to see a Yamaha's version of a EV.

I would like to see mistubishi heavy get into cell manafacturing. Get the battery prices substantially cheaper = battery powered everything. cars, trucks, ships, trains eventually planes. I hope to someday see a Tesla Supertanker

Competition raises the bar. This could be a push for a new model S.

This car from Xpeng sure raises the bar. You get the sense it's more computer than car. The first 2 pics looks like specs from a computer! I am impressed.

Elon started this evolution in EV's and where it will go one can only imagine. These guys have taken cues from Tesla and then went with it.

Honda have just released the Honda E here in the U.K.
not cheap at £26,600 but it looks like it’s using the same camera/mirror setup. Guessing it must be legal to use instead of mirrors.

Yeah, I find it looks awesome.

But my first car was a Civic, and my mom's car when I was little was an '80 Accord for the longest time. This is like a toy-reimagining of those cars. Playful.

My first car was a Civic too, and it was functional and easy on gas. Now we have a Model 3 and it is functional and easy on the eyes. I don't see why it can't be both ways but you are welcome to buy it. I think for most people it is about price and not looks; looks come after their price requirements are met. For me functionality comes first and the Honda just doesn't have the space I need (so suddenly I can focus on the looks). I think that Honda has to think about all the EVs that have come on the market that haven't done well and make sure that they don't repeat those mistakes, whatever they were.
