Has anyone heard the drive train sound like gears lashing not Loud , its you hear it and after you drive 1/4 mile is quiets down and then good from that point on for the day?
Also I had heard people here talk about not having oil in their drive train or being low, could this be a symptom?
Do they ever change the oil in the drive train?

I think I can sort of hear it in those videos and what they say is true . Out of my drive down the road I hear it in the right turn but after the next turn which is left it slowly goes away. I am pretty confident its a gear whine, have many jeeps over the years and 99% stick shift units and a few with 300 straight cut great transfer case. It sounds exactly like those only much quieter. That is why I ask about oil level or lack of Oil, or it it normal to hear that just because it direct drive? Also I generally hear it more when it below 25F temp out. Also somebody was doing a VIN check and mine is 49K delivered in Nov, Made in Oct 24'. Maybe it was just the group of drive train components being used at that time, who knows. So I didn't see any resolutions on that thread either?

Oddly enough my VIN is in the 26K range and was delivered August of 2024 and has this same issue (assuming the video I linked you heard the noise as well). I've been trying to have the service center fix it and have another upcoming appointment. My last appointment they said it was wind noise (I don't know how they believe that means they don't need to fix it).

Ok this morning it was 49 deg F when I left, once I hit the pavement out of my drive I listen very closely again. Not Wind Noise for Sure, very Suttle but definitely there. A Gear Whine for about 1/8-1/4 mile and then its like the oil gets to those gears and quiet from that point on. I do not hear at quitting time on the drive home and I listened for it. So it a overnight thing.
I watch a guy tear apart a Model S Performance Drive train and re gear it (he putting it in a Toyota Truck not sure why). In this video tear down I saw a Oil Filter and a Oil Pump in the casing of the drive train. Do the Cyber Truck also have this, I just watched this and have not climbed under my truck to see if you can tell yet. If it has a oil pump and filter then it could be the drive train needs to spin a bit to be able to put oil on the gears on first drive? Sounds wrong as I say it but maybe?

It’s likely the truck is using the motor(s) inefficiently on purpose to warm the cabin or the battery. Whenever my early CT AWD is preconditioning or heating it sounds like that a gear moan or whine, then goes away if I stop navigating to the Supercharger or turn off the high defrost.
