CT a delorean SS body where every electrical ground went bad and dings scratches are terminal that required entire body super expensive hard to do SS paint job.
I will buy but only after owners run the CT for a few years and no electrical ground issues crop up.
Best tests for the CT will be S Florida or the salt belts

If it were me. I would do light weight plastic body panels. Dent or crack is a heat gun and some glue fix. Maybe short fiber reinforce plastic panels like motorcycles have and like most ICE bumpers. Cheep Easy Repaired Light weight recyclable plastic body panels and bumpers. SS is for rockets, spoons, forks, pots, and pans not CT or BEV.

The DeLorean has significant electrical issues, much of it due to poor engineering choices. The grounding problem is due to the body being fiberglass and thus not a suitable ground. There's only a few actual ground points on the car, and checking/cleaning them is part of regular maintenance. It has nothing to do with the SS panels.

You should check out Sandy Munro's YouTube channel. The cars he's torn down show that Tesla has done some brilliant engineering.

If you don't have a reservation already, you're going to be waiting a few years regardless lol

Stainless steel is not at all hard to repair, but traditional body shops will lack this skill. Fortunately, I know a guy ;-)

Even if a heat gun and some glue would fix a crack, who in their right mind would want to drive around in a truck that is covered in backyard mechanic patches? Might as well add duct tape to the list of repair materials. One of the big reasons people are interested in the CT is they expect a high degree of quality. Cheap and lightweight are not terms I associate with quality but stainless steel certainly is.

Duct tape holds my Ridgeline bumper together quite well!

Let’s be honest, any car scratch or dent is hard to fix. The CT is much less likely to get dents and scratches will likely depend on the finish but either painted or raw. Big scratches are tough. If painted you will have to repaint which is work. Is raw SS you will have to sand out and try to rebuff/polish to match sheen

Grounding will not be a problem on a 2022 Tesla vehicle

I think you and I have different definitions of the word "hard".

I'm not trying to imply there's no work involved. I'm saying it's a known skill, and does not require a shop full of expensive and specialized equipment. I've buffed out scuffs and scratches from my DeLorean with nothing but a Scotch-Brite™ pad and a couple of beers.

Gentlemen
I worked on delorean . Me and a EE could not fix the SS grounding problems. Half the deloreans were painted due to dings scuffs and visual metal problems. I own SS frig SS dishwasher SS stove. If you use any chlorinated cleaner it rusts out SS. Road NaCl is going to nuke CT SS body panels.
Oh
Yes have 4 year degree in CerE (to obtain a CerE now you have to do a MS or PHD) and I have a 2 year A&P degree. 1yr ChemE and 2yrs full organic full inorganic Spectroscopy Pchem (honors) analytical chem and I worked in a chem lab and tutored chemistry.
Even in homes SS appliances are not a good thing but I am able to fix appearance problems with a lot of effort. Talk to any appliance sales people on SS issues.
SS is not a good metal for home or BEV.
Why Post?
If Tesla finds there is a production problem Tesla may change the body panels. If Tesla changes the CT body panels I will buy one or get on a list to buy CT
Hopefully Tesla looks at all CT posts!
