These things are awesome. "No one can do better than OEM" lol what the... the almighty oem apparently haha, I guess that's why thousands of aftermarket companies exist, to do things worse...I won’t be googling you dude, don’t care. That’s why you became a professor, so you have a captive audience you can tell how great you are. You kinda got in my head a little. I had to go look at the panels again this morning to check… Nope they’re still Awesome. I have to apologize to Jasper for stooping to your level and kind of messing up this thread with bad JuJu. Going forward I’d appreciate you keep you negative thoughts your self and don’t “contribute“ to the thread any further… But of course…..
Once you pry off the plastic one with a flat screwdriver you will find 4 Torx screws on the inner lip. Remove these and then bolt the cap on using the same holes. Ultimately we’re shooting for flush screws like the sail panels. For now I have my late prototype attached with bolts I had laying around from a Model S battery pack teardown, so original Tesla hardware Ha ha.I like the tailgate cover….how does it attach?
Yes, you’d have to be pretty trusting to jump in. I know about a half dozen people have shown strong interest but not sure if anyone has laid out the cash yet… I’m going to send more pictures to Jasper to upload to his brand new site he has made up. He has a buddy who is a car photographer (lol) who he wants to do a shoot with. I need to do the final finish treatment with a DA sander and a series of scotchbrite pads ( someone did a YouTube video detailing how to buff out a scratch to match OEM finish I need to watch that again) that being said right now it’s pretty dang close. A YouTube video would be a nice touch. Thanks for your positive words. These things are awesome. These are way better then OEM, so much stronger, not all wavy like the super thin plastic oem ones, plus probably dont rip right off if you catch your load on the edge of one since they are onyl held in by plastic clips. Oh and didn't Tesla have to do some kind of recall because at one point they were flying off the trucks on the highway?
Nice flush stainless hardware is completely acceptable, just look at the bugatti veyron gas cap lol!
I've been wanting a set, waiting on this to develop a little more with a website, better pictures and maybe an installation video or something so I know a little more what I'm getting into.
Careful what you wish for.. here’s the link to the YouTube video. These things are awesome. "No one can do better than OEM" lol what the... the almighty oem apparently haha, I guess that's why thousands of aftermarket companies exist, to do things worse...

Awesome video, side panels are pretty much up to full satisfaction for me, the tailgate cover absolutely needs recessed hardware, as is would not work for me at all.Careful what you wish for.. here’s the link to the YouTube video.
Agree on tailgate hardware, shoulda waited til it was done to post the video. Couldn’t wait to share tho… Plus maybe a bit thicker backing spacer where the screw recesses are to prevent the bending I got from over tightening the bolts. Shipping will be just at cost, hard to know yet.Awesome video, side panels are pretty much up to full satisfaction for me, the tailgate cover absolutely needs recessed hardware, as is would not work for me at all.
I don't need the roof trims it's not a wear area. And really hoping we can get sides and tailgate for $1,500 shipped not plus some ridiculous shipping cost ? or maybe the slightly thicker gauge and then id pay shipping on top.
