How is Tesla handling sales/deliveries to Texans? Last I heard the TX Legislature never fixed the in state sales laws. Living close to GigaAustin might not help you unless "close to GigaAustin" means in Louisiana.

I've been thinking that living in Arkansas may favor me over Texas residents. Your CYBERTRUCK might have 600 miles on its odometer before it makes it back to you. MIne could be in my driveway in just over 500 miles!!!
Texas Model Y buyers have had no issue.

No one here likely knows how Tesla will handle orders by city, state, or region, let alone for states that don't allow direct sales like Texas. As you have seen with the Model Y, they load a bunch of them up on trailers, take them to a railroad yard, load them up on trains, and off they go to wherever those trains go. If I were to hazard a guess they will send to places where they can send a whole truck to and then people would pick them up there. How they will do this logistically I have no idea. If they have a large number of closely-spaced reservation numbers in an area they might favor that area. Total guess.
I'm not exactly sure how my Model 3 purchase in Arkansas in 2019 was handled. I paid the balance before it left California and I was following its progress cross country. It arrived in Dallas about a week before my scheduled delivery date so I contacted my delivery agent about the possibility for me to go to Dallas to pick it up ahead of schedule and was told that that wasn't allowed "by law". I don't know if it was Arkansas law or Texas law that prohibited it, because both states have stupid dealership laws. They told me that it had to be delivered across state lines by a 3rd party. My car arrived at my job site, on a car hauler not associated with Tesla, along with several others being delivered in the area.

Any Texan who's bought a Texas Tesla. Where did you go to pick up your car? Were there any hinky shenanigans involved in your delivery? of did you pay for, sign for, and pick up your car at a Gallery location?

My order was placed November 30, 2021, do you have any idea how long will it be before I get mine? Gary
The sales manager I talked to said they expect to produce 5-10k in 2023. I will fall into the 1200 to 2000 range after employees and suppliers get theirs.

Way back when (and that perhaps means that it is no longer valid at all) Elon was asked whether Cybertrucks purchased in other states could be picked up at the factory and he said yes. We picked up our Model 3 in 2019 at the Fremont factory (though we live in California) so I do not see a problem with it. Perhaps Elon spoke without thinking or perhaps they will put something together that will allow it to happen. It would be nice. As I said back then, I will jump on a plane, pick up the Cybertruck at GigaAustin, grab a cooler full of Texas BBQ, and drive home in ecstasy.

It is too bad that Elon is starting with the most expensive CT truck production instead of going by order dates of his followers who have been waiting as I have for 6 years now.
It will be a hybrid of this. It always is. They will produce a bunch of top end or mid-range models (on Model 3 it was RWD before AWD but Performance before LRAWD). At some point they will start producing the lower cost model, normally in 12 months or so. The early reservations holders will get first dibs on each model as it becomes available. So assuming they actually launch the entry level vehicle, it will likely be 12-18 months delayed.

This is a joke, right?
If you’re not joking, how the hell have you been waiting for 6 years when the CT was announced at most 3.5 years ago.

He doesn't know what he is talking about (in terms of which trims, order fulfillment, etc), any more than we do, and we shouldn't waste any more energy on people that drop in every 3 years to ask questions they should know the answers to.

I do not know how much of the recent traffic (e.g. the exoskeleton argument) is just trolling but I tend to think that when I see entire desiderata written that someone is more interested in the argument than they are in truth. But we are all frustrated at this point so I can let it all slide.

Personally, I've been waiting on my Cybertruck for 6 years now... ever since they showed they could make cars a large scale which I knew would eventually drive down prices on a truck someday. From that point on, I was just hoping they'd make a truck... I've been waiting on my reservation for just over 3 years now though.

No jokes really actually more than 6yrs as a Ca contractor I went to South San Francisco to see a prefabricated house and Elon had his two seater sportster outside for viewing and that is when I told myself that when he would make a truck I would buy one
