After some weird round and round where SD said they weren’t supplying Tesla “but would love to”, Tesla says they are indeed using Steel Dynamics.

Unless they've recently switched suppliers Starship has not used stainless steel from SDI so the plaque could very well be wrong.

Good thing I bought a few STLD when is was $60. Steel as an industry has done good past couple years and may do better when domestic auto makers start making vehicles again. Or not. Too bad I don't have enough shares to buy a CT 😁

This is CT only flaw.
FeCr is heavy and EvTruck cannot afford FeCr anywhere.

Weight is range and or smaller lighter motors and smaller lighter drivetrain all that makes a heavier EvTruck. Every oz matters.
Maybe Just Maybe
CT might move Plastic short Glass or Kevlar fiber injection molded body panels Structural Plastic
but
FeCr is 100 years old Technolgy and never should have been allowed or offered.
One good thing
Switch from FeCr to Structural Plastic is easy bolt on change.
flaw? why are you even on this site when you think that? look, I know you're trolling but seriously, move on.

I seem to think that is old news.
It’s a confirmation we have all speculated. Not news. But confirmation.

You think the museum exhibit, procured by Tesla, which was christened by Franz might be inaccurate? wow.
A museum exhibit is put together by docents. They are just not a primary source, so, they are not authoritative. They're a good source, except when contradicted by primary sources.

Yes, it is possible that Tesla did not put the display together.

Months ago both Steel Dynamics and Elon said Steel Dynamics was not a supplier.

So was Elon lying.
Was Steel Dynamics lying.
But then where did they get that info? Possibly was just up in the air then? They are not the supplier til they’re the supplier

Are you again inferring that Tesla didn't put together the display exhibit?
Yes. It would be unusual for Tesla to put together the exhibit. They don't have a staff of curators and docents.

Exhibits have been known to have errors before. It's a transcription issue.
