In the Cybertruck video done by Top Gear they interviewed Lars Moravy and Franz Von Holzhausen at Tesla Design center. Lars Moravy was listing off some of the new technology in the Cybertruck and he mention Steer by wire then said steer by brake. Did anyone know if he just misspoke or is there something going with steering by brake?

Yeah it steers left every time you brake. If you want to go right, you have to brake three times in a row. 🤔

Two wrongs don't make a right, but three lefts do make a right :)

I guess what I was thinking was how a skid steer locks a wheel to pivot on if maybe the Cybertruck would use some function of it off roading. Or even better give you an option of power sliding around corners!

This was answered on another post.

All modern cars with Stability Assist/ESP can and do use the brakes to steer the vehicle to maintain stability and control.

He may have been thinking about the potential of brakes by wire being developed by Brembo
