Still waiting for license plate

Got CT by end of June. It has been 3 months and I still haven’t received permanent license plate (in WA). Same for anyone else?

My TX plate came in about a month into ownership but I’m not sure of the differences for plate processes between WA and TX but 3 months doesn’t sound correct.

Same here, in WA. Got my Beast in the middle of June, still have no plate. They haven't sent a new temporary either, my temp expired 9/16/2024. I hope the police know about the plate shortage and don't pull us over for it.

I received mine in about a month after taking delivery. They did that to me on my Model 3. I reached out to my SA and they sent another temp tag. Although it was at the very start of Covid in 2020. I got my personalized plate the other day and love it.

I dropped by DMV and got a new temporary plate. It has to be within a week of expiration for them to issue new temp plate though.

I'm in Wyoming, the delivery center is is Utah. I received my registration packet via UPS just one week after delivery. I took the packet to the DMV and got my previous personalized license plates transferred that same day. Maybe there are different laws and processes in some states but I got very prompt service.

Ditto here. Unfortunately, our temp plates expire while we’re visiting in California so I called DMV. The lady was very helpful & was going to send me the new metal plates because they have a few unassigned plates, but since the mothership had already assigned the plate numbers she couldn’t. So she told me to call a week before expiration and she’d mail new temps to the address here in Cali.

I received zero communication from the delivery center about when/where/how to get the tag (in New Mexico). I was too excited to even ask about it at the time LOL.

Anyway, I had 7 days til temporary tag expired, so I called Tesla. They said it should be there in time. I had no other notification after that, but sure enough, the tag showed up on the front door step overnight delivery from UPS the day before the tag expired!

I saw an article about the WA plate shortage in my feed recently, did a Google search and can across a few stories on it:

With aging equipment the root cause, looks like they’re going to non-embossed plates to try and clear the current backlog. I took delivery at the end of April and our plates arrived (shipped by Tesla) before my temp plates expired. Looks like WA DOL warned about the upcoming shortage in May and obviously haven’t caught back up yet.

Took over 1 month in NC. What was worst was that while we were in FL, got pulled over in 2 different towns and their software was not showing the temp tags registered under our names. The cops care less that the temp registration showed our names and paper tag number.

Mine was pretty funny. I secured funding and picked up truck. Tesla took so long to get the funding that it expired. Telsa never called me to say "hey, we didn't get paid for the truck" -- that was 2 months after taking delivery. I went to the SC and got new temp tags.

Finally, I called the finance company and asked if Tesla had been paid and they said it expired! So, I had to re-apply, get the new loan and get it over to Tesla.

It was like, "meh, its only money". The only drawback is I couldn't get plates for the truck. I guess I could have just kept getting temp tags for ever.

I have'nt recieved my lic plate either, recieved the cybertruck in july. Wa is having an issue with truck license plate issuance is what I have heard. Do to the issue when the paper plate is ran it shows that it is updated and waiting on new plates so they say.

March delivery in WA...I ordered a specialty plate in April, my temp expired in June. Still waiting for plate...still using expired temp. I have registration in car along with tabs to put on plate when it arrives. Silly WA...
