I took Phasma in for service today and was given a Model X. Then proceeded to nearly sprain my wrists in turning the yoke multiple rotations. How do people drive with a yoke without steer-by-wire? Perhaps I've been spoiled by the Cybertruck but it feels dangerous to drive with a yoke shape and needing to perform multiple rotations without a circular object. 🤷‍♂️

You have been spoiled, I know that because I have too. For work I drive a regular car and I've already had to adjust my brain over and over again too spinning the steering wheel. I can only imagine the yoke being that much weirder.

I picked up a used Model S Plaid a year+ ago to tide me over until Cybertruck and it came with a yoke. While I got comfortable with it, it never felt like the safest arrangement if you have to make quick turns because you can lose contact with the wheel/yoke. That plus it kept banging into my legs.

Luckily Tesla then offered a mobile retrofit to a round wheel. Paid the $700 and now the yoke sits in my office.

Maybe you can make a trophy display for it like how people show off deer antlers.

Like the yoke. MS Plaid. No issues except having it replaced for cosmetic reasons; new one is very well constructed. Also, was (pleasantly) shocked that it too less than three hours to have yoke replaced and new tires installed.
